Hello my name is Carmen, I was hesitant to even go to something like this, but here’s my story. This last month of this year has been extremely difficult for me. I lost my job the first week of December and been trying to find help from assistance places to get help with my rent before is do. What is now the first of the month January 1 already. I’m about to go into this new year in need of financial help pain and heartache. I wasn’t able to really get my 3 kids anything for Christmas. My youngest that’s 7 months her dad has been gone since February and left me with her. God….it gets worse my mom husband mom passed and they both traveled to Milwaukee to bury her, but when they got there there wasn’t enough money to handle everything. So her and her husband returned and he had to take out three loans and then they traveled back from Arizona to Milwaukee. While traveling back and forth to bury his mom they got sick and note my mom has asthma badly. So after they returned I went over to their apartment and my mom seemed fine, but her husband had a cough. God two days later I texted my mom if there was any mail, because I still have mail that comes to her house. She said she was at work and will check it when she gets home. Some time went by and I texted her again then she said she was at Walmart getting her medicine. I texted her again and she told me that she was at the hospital. I texted her why she never responded. Note this is the last text that I received from my mom. It’s hurts to even tell this story, because it happened so fast. Next thing I know her husband told me that I should get down to the hospital because it wasn’t looking to good for my mom. She has type A flu and pneumonia. I run down there right before they started to pit her in the bed that was going to turn her on her stomach for 20 hours. I couldn’t believe what was happening right in front of my eyes when she just looked perfectly normal two days ago. I went back home and was going to go back in the morning. Early the next morning, I was praying then I got a urgent text message from her husband saying come down here now she may not make it. I jumped up and ran to get clothes. When I arrived my mom was dying and I was screaming Lord please it’s not her time. My sister, grandmother and Aunt jumped on the next flight from Alabama and her dad jumped on the plane from Maine. I was so confused I stayed long as I could they had her hooked up to so many different machines and also she was sedated. Her heart was still beating and everyone was on there way. So I left to get back to my daughter because I breast-feed her and couldn’t leave her long. They also wouldn’t let me up to see my mom with her. I got home to fed my kids 7months, 5 years and 14 years old. While trying to tidy up the house for my family in case they come by I was gone a little longer than I expected. I finally got everything done and booked another Uber to come take me back. On the way there I got a text saying that she was gone with god. I got anxious and felt dizzy and the driver asked was I ok. I said no and finally busted out in tears. She was a angel she hug me and prayed right before I jumped out the car. I ran into the hospital to her room and saw my mom laying there lifeless!! I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. I feel lost having to beg for money because she didn’t have life insurance and I don’t have my rent money do to my job lost. The family that is trying to help my sister and I are low on funds and I just don’t know what to do. Her dad got her cremated, but it’s still other expenses that we have to pay. On top of me not having my rent money and now having to figure out how to flight back home to Alabama for a ceremony. Anything will help right now .50 a $1 anything I would appreciate it. I’m so tired right now with phone calls and texts from people. I’m not good right now, but I’m staying strong for my kids. I’m sorry I really just don’t know what else to say this man just lost two important women in his life at the same time. This is so heartbreaking, heavy and tragic.
