Hi. Thank you for stopping by. My husband and I have hit a rough patch. My stepdaughter and her husband (his kids) were living with us for 5 years. They refused to clean after themselves and refused to pay us rent. Occasionally they would pay something, other than that, it was us supporting them. Now, I do need to mention these “kids” were 28 years old. Her mom, my husband’s ex-wife, got an apartment, moved out and cheated on him. (I met my husband after he was divorced, that the cheating mom paid for). For some reason, his kids treat him like he is the one that cheated and hate me for it and welcome her many boyfriends with open arms. My husband and I went to counseling over this.
One night just he and his daughter were in the kitchen talking and she said that she couldn’t pay rent because she wasn’t working, although her husband was working. Shortly after this, she also found out that my husband and I refinanced the house and put me on the deed. This sent her over the edge! About a week later, they thought we were asleep. I thought I saw them moving some boxes out. I brought it up to my husband and I told him I thought the kids were moving out. He asked her about it, and she said they weren’t going anywhere. Fast forward a couple of days, she still hadn’t told us they were moving out, but all the signs were there. He called her out on it and she finally confessed that her and her husband were moving in with his parents and were going to pay them $500/month. “HUH? But you’re not working? You can’t afford to pay us, but you can afford to pay them”? No response. None. Within a minute, literally, of that conversation, my husband got a phone call and got laid off. He was laid off for a year. We’re still trying to recover from the fact that he was laid off. I did have a seasonal job, which will start back up in May 2024. In the meantime, I am looking for other employment and trying to get my business off the ground. We are flat broke, and barely scraping by. Please note that the kind of person that I am, whatever you can help me with, I will pay it forward when we are on our feet.
I am trying to get my business up and running but need the capital to start it. My business is to help families that are being foreclosed on to afford another house that is just as good, but better priced because it will be below market value. My business is to help others.
