Hi. I am in need of funds to start a business that I am very passionate about. I would like to start a commercial cleaning business, that employs people with disabilities. I want to employ people with cognitive disabilities (Autism, ADHD, and slow learning) the goal of this program is to get them out of the house, more social, independent, and confident. I was a supervisor for a company that employed people with disabilities, for nine years. They did give proper training. The goal of the company that I worked for was to just get the work done, not giving each individual proper training. I worked one on one with the most loving and passionate group. I gave ideas and asked for a training program and was turned down time and time again. In 2021 I quit my job looking to start a business. My goal is to raise some money to help with this business. I have been researching and keeping up with techniques in this field, but I need help with the financial part. I am trying to raise 75,000 dollars to put toward a building and a van. I am using some of my own money, but it has been hard, because most people do not see my vision. I know that it will be hard, and I am willing to put in the work. My company will show them how to work in a competitive work environment all the while learning skills that can be used in everyday life. I plan to make this a non-profit in the future that will earn more money to help more people with disabilities. I understand the struggle that people with disabilities go through, because I have family members who are going through not getting hired, getting fired, or ” not being productive”. I want to give them a place where if they make a mistake, it can be used as a learning tool, if they “just can’t do it” they can be encouraged to keep trying. My goal is to teach them you may not get it today, tomorrow, or even this year. Work hard and you may be able to achieve it. One of my family members did not get that treatment and became depressed and lost her self-worth. This is why I want to have a business that caters to and helps people with disabilities.
