Hello there,
I would like to first of all thank everyone for taking time to read my story. I appreciate it greatly.
So my story starts when I left my home country 3 years ago coming to the Uk I had great expectations that my life was going to get better. I work in one the busiest critical care units in London as a nurse and I love my job being able to care for my patients at a time when they are most vulnerable makes it worthwhile but unfortunately the remuneration is not so great. For 3 years now I live paycheck to paycheck I can hardly save , I have tried shared accommodation to try and save but that has left me with PTSD my roommate wasn’t the best I was verbally abused everyday, I dreaded going home every time I was on shift so I had to find my own place. I try save but it’s not working out I do some extra shifts to get by but they leave me awfully exhausted which is compromising my regular shifts. I might come off as someone complaining but am very thankful there’s people that have it rough out there.
I recall telling myself throughout my schooling, ‘It will get better after I graduate and start working.’
‘I thought I’d be able to pay my bills and not have to check my bank account if I want go out or my parents ask for something.
“I thought I’d be comfortable and am not, at all. Growing up we were told, “Go to college, get a degree, work to support your family.” Here we are and now what. I haven’t been home to see my parents in 3 yrs because I can hardly save after paying for all my bills, rent , council tax, electricity and water am left with £300 to my name so I have to manage that until the next payday. I’m frustrated there’s times I don’t want to go out of bed because I ask myself what’s the point. I’m the type that doesn’t complain about my pain because i don’t want to worry my parents, my dad recently got diagnosed with diabetes and I can’t even send him £100 to consult privately for a second opinion, I feel like a failure.
Baking and making confectioneries is something I have always wanted to do but I need to go school for that. I have searched around for a school and came across Le Cordon Bleu they have a diploma in pastry and confectionery which runs for 9months and the fees are £21100 including ingredients, uniforms, knife kit, learning materials. I wish to do this as a side hustle so I can maximize my savings and live comfortably. I will be very pleased when some out there comes to my rescue.
