I’ve been helping a friend of mine for a year. Shortly after I met my friend, he developed intussusception and he was unable to go to work for weeks and lost his job. I helped pay his rent and personal needs.
Shortly after getting well, his car broke down on the interstate. The car was towed away and he was unable to fix it. Miraculously, he was able to find another used car. I helped him to pay that car off and he was able to get another job. Things looked to be getting better.
Then, the transmission broke in the Chevy Malibu. I paid to replace the transmission. Two weeks later, the power steering goes out, I pay for that. Then, the alternator goes out, the battery, and I pay for all that. We get all that replaced and then the ECM goes out to the transmission. I pay to get that replaced. Finally, the mechanic comes back and says that this new used transmission that I just replaced a couple months ago is now bad. Meanwhile, since my friend was unable to make it to work, he has now lost his job, again. He’s got a serious toothache that needs to be addressed and he needs a car so that he can get a job.
Unfortunately, I spent so much money trying to keep his car going that I no longer have the funds to help him. I am still trying to buy him groceries, but his rent for the apartment is coming up quickly, which is $700/month. We just need a little help to get out of this rut. Just enough money to get a used good car, rent, and dental assistance. Thank you.
