Recently, in January 2024, my life took a sudden turn. I lost my job after giving it my all for nearly four years, Talk about tough times! a job that was not just a source of income but also a sense of purpose. Then, soon after, I was swimming in bills and credit card debts. But how I got there?
During better times, I extended a helping hand to someone I cared deeply about—a former partner who was a migrant struggling to make ends meet, and help his family back home. I believed in the power of compassion and hoped that my support would make a difference. Little did I know that my act of kindness would lead me down a path of financial strain.
My former partner left my country without notice and without fulfilling his promise to repay the debt and did not hear about him again. The credit card bills piled up, and I found myself trapped in a cycle of anxiety and sleepless nights. The unpaid bills feel like a heavy burden on my shoulders, making it hard for me to stay financially stable.
I had always been diligent about paying my bills on time, but losing my job made it impossible to keep up. Despite my best efforts, I have not been able to find another job yet. But let me assure you, I am not giving up. Every day, I continue to search for opportunities, hoping to find a new job that will allow me to regain my financial footing.
