I am a single mother to two children, survivors of a traumatic 10-year Domestic Violence situation that I managed to escape two years ago. After finding out he also had been violent to the children I fled with them, he chased us, beat me and stabbed me in front of our 2 children to try and stop me getting away. The 2 year legal battles that ensued left me mentally and financially drained, ultimately leading to the recent loss of my full-time job.
Despite obtaining a final court order ensuring no contact with the perpetrator due to the severe threat he poses, I find myself unable to meet this month’s rent of $1999. I have alot of debt from 2 years of legal and court dates. The financial strain is compounded by upcoming school expenses, including supplies and uniforms for my children.
I am actively seeking employment, selling personal items, and exploring all avenues to generate income. However, I currently have $900 and need an additional $1100 to cover the rent shortfall.
Any contribution, whether it’s $20, $50, or $100, would be immensely appreciated and help alleviate the immediate stress we are facing. I understand that times are challenging for many, and I am grateful for any support you can offer.
