I am Zimbabwean national resident in South Africa My wife is 58years old has been battling with a heart problem for many years. We have two children through cesarean section due to her heart condition This year in January her condition deteriorated and we isited different doctors for consultations. The doctors were prescribing different types of medication but her condition worsened.
We suffered financially as we visited different doctors seeking for help but were not winning.
Eventually some time in April someone referred us to Dr Disla ,acardiologist at netcarehospital in Johannesburg. It was Dr Disla who picked up the real problem with her heart, of which he advised us that my wife needed a valve replacement. He gave her medication and referred us to a government hospital.
2 days later my wife suffered a minor stroke and was admitted in hospital for a week.
She was discharged and put on a 3 months waiting list for an operation. When she got home things got worse and she developed more problems eg kidneys, water I the stomach, swollen feet ,vomiting and loss of appetite. We battled as we tried different doctors for help, with no success and she was e eventually bedridden. The private hospital gave us a quote of R500 000 to do the operation and we had no money. Her heart rate wasn’t by then.I had toborrow money from different people ,which i managed to raise R300 000. I then sent her to india for an operation which was a success.she came back home last month. She is recovering well and taking medication including wofrin.
I fell into serious debt and am trying to pay back people while also taking care of my wife as she is not fully recovered yet.
I have all the proof from South African doctors and India hospital and air tickets.
Any assistance will be appreciated to return back to normal life
Thank you
