The required surgery is a mastectomy the removal of the affected breast along with the removal of nearby lymph nodes. This procedure, combined with chemotherapy sessions afterward, will cost more than we can currently afford. The estimated total cost for the surgery, medication, post-operative care, and follow-up treatments is $4,236 dollars to ₦6,485,000 naira. This includes hospital admission fees, anesthesia, blood tests, pathology examinations, and necessary drugs.
Unfortunately, my current earnings as a loan verification officer are barely enough to take care of daily family needs, let alone such an overwhelming medical expense. Over the past months, we have exhausted our savings, sold valuable belongings, and received help from a few family members and friends, but the amount raised so far is still far from what is required. Every passing day without the surgery increases the risk of the cancer advancing to other parts of her body, which could make treatment more complicated and less effective.
My wife is not just my partner but also a mother, a sister, and a friend to many. She has always been a caring, selfless woman who supports others in their times of need. Now, she is the one in desperate need of help, and I cannot bear the thought of losing her simply because of financial constraints.
