It is with a heavy heart that I write this message. I never thought I would have to ask strangers for help, but today, my family is facing a serious crisis, and we have no other option left.
We are two sisters living with our elderly mother. She depends on us for her daily needs, and until recently, it was our brother who supported us financially. He is a hardworking, devoted man who sacrificed everything to care for us. Sadly, the Covid-19 crisis turned our world upside down.
Before the pandemic, our brother ran a small business that allowed him to provide for the family. But with the lockdowns, extended closures, rising costs, and the drastic drop in customers after the crisis, he started suffering heavy financial losses. He tried everything to recover, but the situation kept worsening. Eventually, the debts became overwhelming, and he had no choice but to declare bankruptcy.
Now, his creditors are demanding repayment and have initiated asset seizure procedures. Among the properties targeted is our home — the only place where we all live together and feel safe. This house is not just a roof over our heads. It is our last piece of security, our comfort zone. If we lose it, we will have nowhere to go. We have no stable income, no other property, and no alternative housing.
Our mother is elderly and in fragile health. The thought of seeing her on the streets breaks our hearts. We’ve reached out to social services, local organizations, friends and relatives… but nothing is enough to stop the seizure process in time.
That is why we are humbly turning to you. We need to raise €85,000 (about $91,000 USD) to save our home.
