I am visually impaired and recently purchased a new computer. I would like to purchase a better screen reader, called Jaws for Windows, which has all the accessibility options available to me, so that I can read the items on my screen. I would like to have this because I want to be able to freely use my computer.
There are quite a few free screen readers available, but they do not all have all of the options available for me to be able to do things like read pictures as well.
I was born visually impaired and have not been able to see anything more than colors. I am good with computers, and know how to use them, but need a screen reader that is payed to be able to access all of the options available to me.
I know a lot more people probably need this type of money more than me, but in order for me to find a good job, and be able to work on the computer, and read grafic images, I need this screen reader and be able to purchase the Home Licence and be able to use it on my personal computer. Blind and visually impaired people deserve to have the same access to technology as sighted people. This includes computers, because phones already have a really good screen reader built into the software.
I only get a little bit of money from the government and it does not cover all of the costs that I already have to pay, including rent, and other things. This is why I would like to have a little bit of money to be able to purchase my screen reader.
People that are Blind or Visually impaired can do a lot with computers, they can use them to check their email, play games, surf the web, and much much more! I would be happy to give back to this community as well, when I am able to use my computer and be able to read images and get audio descriptions of images that are on the screen, and not just text. At the time of this writing, I have to ask my sighted friends to help me do surten things on the computer that do not work with free screen readers in Windows.
Please consider helping me out, as it is my wish for my Birthday to be able to use my computer and not only have to use free screen readers that do not provide all the necessary accessibility options for me. It takes a lot of time and money and even a lot of effert to create such an amazing application, allowing blind and visually impaired people to use their computers just like any other person. On our phones, we can use Voice Over for iPhone which is amazing, and comes with iOS, and on Android we can use Talkback, which is also an amazing screen reader.
