It doesn’t feel great asking for money but I thought we might as well give it a go as we are really struggling to get the money together to start the next chapter of our lives.
So here is a bit more information as to why I am requesting money;
My partner and I are a same sex couple living in the UK, we recently bought our little home together on a mortgage after working hard to save for the deposit. We have quite a fair bit of debt after my partner was hit off her bicycle by a car, breaking her leg in three places and leaving her unable to work for quite some time due to recovery and anxiety. Thankfully she is now fully recovered and back to working full time.
We have been together for quite a while now, engaged and living together, we have decided we’d like to take the next step in our relationship. We would love to start a family and become mothers. I am worried that financially, this will not be an option for us as being two women it’s not quite that simple. Fertility treatment is going to cost us thousands which we just don’t have. We’re more than happy to consider adoption too if fertility doesn’t go to plan but regardless, it would be nice to feel a bit more financially stable before bringing a child into our lives. We have so much love to give. We fear that by the time we have finished clearing our debt and saving it will be too late for us. We just want to experience being mothers and having a family together.
I do appreciate that we are incredibly privileged, we have a roof over our heads and food on the table which we are extremely grateful for, we know there are many people in much more need than we are and we hope to one day pay it forward if we can.
We would honestly be grateful for any amount of monetary donation however we have calculated that £30,000 would enable us to pay off our loans/credit cards, pay for fertility treatment and support us during that first year with our baby before going back to work.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you so much in advance if you are able to help in any way.
