Asking for help is a fairly new concept for me. Not long before the Covid-19 shut down, I was in a near-fatal bicycle accident where I sustained a traumatic brain injury and concussion. Although I was physically and emotionally impaired, it was a new concept for me to ask for assistance. My injuries worsened from not realizing that I needed help to recover and not asking for financial assistance with my treatments. With delayed time I began my extremely costly treatment programs in early 2021, and I completed them in late 2022. From the first day of the accident to the end of my treatments, I was unable to drive, and could only take on enough work to sustain my cost of living and medical bills while being a university student. Eventually, the pressure became too much and I asked family members for help, yet did not receive any support. In fact, they were not fond of me asking. To this day, I’m still struggling to recover from depleting myself physically and financially with my recovery. It’s extremely difficult to make a living without a support system. Every time I get my head above water, a tide comes through, and I have to start completely over financially.
Now that I’m able to drive again, I believe a car will help me become more financially stable. I’ll be able to Increase my income through work that is further than walking distance. It’s been extremely difficult to make a living without transportation. I’ve been offered amazing positions from companies such as L Brands, Bristol Myers, and Johnson & Johnson that I’ve had to decline due to unreliable transportation. The position from L Brands was my dream internship! Public transportation and ride shares are extremely expensive with both time and money. Now that my doctors have cleared me to drive, I not only want to drive myself and save time and money. I want to use the car to make money. Instead of relying on rideshares to get around, I want to be a person servicing the rideshare. Not only will the car be a direct tool for making money, I will also be able to accept decent-paying jobs that require reliable transportation. In turn, I’ll be able to create financial stability for myself. I’ve always been resourceful, and I feel this car will be a tool for me to reach a different level of success and create financial stability.
A car would really change my life for the better, and help me move to the next chapter of my life. I’m still in debt from all of the medical bills that I have collected over the past three years. I need to put myself in a position to pay my debts and live a higher quality life. Therefore, I would not waste any time or financial contribution towards the car. Because the pain of staying in my predicament is too painful, I can assure you that every penny will go into the car. I understand that nothing that last will come easy. I’m not looking for a brand-new car. I’m only looking for $6,000 to get a car. I have strategically planned each step and penny for the funding of my car. With this funding, I’ll purchase a used vehicle model that I can maintain, such as a Honda or Toyota. The car will be purchased from an auction or estate sale. Then, I will use the leftover funding for service checks and repairs. If there is additional funding after that, I’ll use it to purchase auto insurance and vehicle registration. Of course, I am more than willing to include my own financial contribution; I just need seed money.
As I mentioned earlier, asking for help is not easy for me. Therefore, I won’t take the gesture lightly. I will not only pray for those who bless me, but I pray to also pay it forward. Paypal: paypal.me/LaRavenGordon
