Hello, I was wondering if you could help us please.
I am a full time carer of my partner who is registered disabled due to mental health (bipolar disorder) and a heart problems (major heart attack aged 38)
Due to his bipolar he gets very anxious and stressed when having to go outside as he does not like large crowds and noises, which makes his condition worse.
I would love to have a safe space outside for him to go and relax and have quiet time without me worrying that he is going to have a episode and so he can get some fresh air instead of being stuck inside all the time, the problem we have is that our back garden is not a safe place, it would also be great to be able to hang out washing on the line instead of having to have it around the house drying (which is also bad for our health as it is causing damp issues)
I would also like to try and grow our own vegetables as a healthy diet is beneficial to keeping his heart working well and I think it would be quite therapeutic being outside more.
To make it safe we need to have all the soil dug up and taken away and a supporting wall built all the way around as the garden is 5 feet high in some places due to the garden being higher than the property, it will also require fencing and a secure gate.
We have been quoted £10,000 as it is not cheap to have the soil disposed of which we would never be able to afford. I know this is a lot of money but my partners health and well-being is my main priority.
If you would be able to help us in any way we would really appreciate it.
I have never done anything like this before but we have no family or friends that could help us.
When I met my partner I lost all my friends due his bipolar as there still is a big stigma with mental health.
Thank you so so much In advance for any help you will be able to give us, it means so much to know that there is still good people out there and I hope one day that I will be able to pay it forward. xx
