Hi! I am a 70 year old who is desperate to make the biggest thing on my bucket list happen.
I just returned from a reunion with my 3 brothers and 1 sister who I have not seen for 5 years. We spent a wonderful week together and could not bear to say good-bye as we all are on that ‘short list’ based on our ages. All of my siblings still live in Illinois in our home town of Dixon, and 1 is within a 2 hour drive.
I am probably no different than 90% of people in that I need a better car, a better mattress, a bigger savings account, and a great life insurance policy, but my biggest wish is to return to my home town so I can be close to all of them for the remainder of time we all have on this earth.
We are on a fixed income of $3450 a month and only have $1500 in savings. I need help to make this happen. I currently live in a house owned by my daughter and pay $600 a month for rent. She would like to sell the house and has offered to give me $3-$4,000 to help me move, but that is just not enough to move from NC to Illinois. I have found an apartment in Illinois that will cost us $ 735.00/month plus utilities and a $20 a month fee for our pet dog. We would be able to afford this by May of 2022 due to paying off a debt which gives us an additional $575 a month.
Move in costs would probably be first, last, and a deposit equal to a month’s rent which would equal to $2265 plus any deposits for utilities, so let’s round that up to $2600 just to move into the unit.
We would need to rent a truck to move our personal belongings, car and furniture which would probably amount to $2400-$5000 according to what I see on the internet.
We are willing to cut costs as much as possible to get the financial help even if it means we would drive the moving truck and haul the car. We could probably get there in 2 days if we push it.
$7000 is the magic number to help us make this happen.
Our gratitude for your help in making this happen is more than we can even put into words. Please consider us for any funds that you are able to donate to our last bucket list wish. Thanks for your time.
