First my wife and I have never did drugs or drank. Also, due to my stroke I may have issues with typing and spelling. We worked hard in our years. Have been Married for 24 years and never ask for anything. We just never get a break and when we do do something goes wrong. We have always cared for people and done or best. I We would like to find a way to get into a house we can own. and make payments or in any way to get out own home.
So, back on November 14 2020 I had a stroke. I couldn’t say anything, including my name and I lost feeling on my right side. My lovely Wife took me to the Tahoe Forest Hospital because we did not know what was wrong. Well, they decided to rush me to Renown Hospital Code-3 (lights and sirens) because they didn’t have the equipment to support me for Dialysis and they knew I would be admitted for a while.
Sorry But i have to go back for a bit. So Before this happened back in 2016 I was rushed to Renown Hospital after I lost total kidney function after my Wife said so we have to know what’s going on with me. I never did drugs or even drink and was always an outdoor person. Also, I am the kind of person that also keeps working when very tired and weak in my case. I had 3 surgeries that night (Fistula surgery, Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Catheter and Temporary Hemo Catheter) which took 4 hours with 2 transfusions. I spent the 2 weeks recovering in the Hospital until my numbers got better. When I was released I spent 2 months getting my strength back and basically learning to walk again. During that time I also spent 3 weeks a day on Hemodialysis then at the same time was getting training on how to do Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) at home.By the way my wife was with me everyday. Right now I am on dialysis for 12 hours every night.
So, by this time I decided to look for a different career since I was not cleared due to medical reasons. So, I decided to get into the area that I did while I was in the Military. We all did a secondary job and for me it was doing Security. I went to Advance Security training even when I was still trying to gain strength. I then was hired by a Superior Court doing Security Contractor keeping the Public, Staff and the Judge safe.
Then in 2019 was diagnosed with a vascular issue.I lost feeling on my right foot due to blood. I had v where once again but on social disability and once again my lovely Wife was there for me.
I spent another year learning to walk again but since I have no feeling on my foot.
The Stroke happened. Like I said earlier I couldn’t talk or say my name. My wife was there everyday but she could be there until after 3;00 PM due to the Covid. I was therefore less than 3 because there were not enough beds.I could now say my name and my Wife’s name. In fact when I was at the Hospital I called her for her help to remind me how to say my name and hers.
After I was home finally I started to get Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy and occupational therapy. My wife helping shower among other things. I’m still using a walker but having to use it less. My speech is doing so much better and in fact everyone is saying that they have never seen someone improve so quickly. Everyday I have been seeing different doctors. Just this week I started BiPAP Machine because they found out that I have stopped breathing at night after they ran a sleep study which caused me to have Stroke. And thanks to my Wife for making me see all these Doctors.
My Wife has been having problems too. Right now she as RA rheumatoid arthritis and takes numerous drugs including a drug that Cancer Patients have to take and could kill her which is not good for her toes injury. She had to see wound care 2 times a week and it is not getting better. Now we have to get a knee scooter. She is doing what she can for both of us. Luckily we have great neighbors that came over shoveling snow. There are great people out there waiting to help others..
I just don’t know how much longer we have to live here. We are full of medical bills. We have 2 vehicles. 1 is broken and the other is going to break down. My wife can’t afford to take any time off work and she needs to rest for her toe to get better or she may lose it. We can’t move to an apartment and need space for all of my medical supplies. I have a big rig that delivers equipment to this house we rent. We have been here for close to 20 years. It’s so expensive to live here and there is no way to buy a house or move. I am on full disability and have lots of medical issues. We worked hard all these years even recently even with medical issues.
