Dear Reader,
Today I am writing to you all not to just beg for money, but to share a story with you. I am a Firefighter in west Texas. I grew up in a religious home with both my parents. I have a beautiful girlfriend and now a beautiful daughter. Both my parents are still by my side and aid my family with what little they have. I have always dreamed in helping my father in anyway I could. He is 60 years old and has been in a wheelchair since he was 18. He was involved in a car accident that he had no control over and since then has been a paraplegic. My dad is one of the most loving humans in this whole world and only wishes the best for everybody. He is the kind of guy who becomes friends with someone while waiting in line to pay at the market. My whole life I have had to go through pain and suffering with him going in and out of the hospital. He has an extensive medical history and even with all that he still is the life of the party in the family. As time has gone he has become weaker and more dependent on people to help him. Insurance isn’t a big help as they have to many demands. He uses a broken electric wheelchair with duct tape holding the arm in. the style of electric wheelchair is very expensive. he also has no way to drive himself to the store or to get around because the insurance company will not help him with a vehicle to convert it to a wheelchair accessible style vehicle. he spends his days at home with no where to go. Now that I have my own family that I need to take care of I find it extremely hard to help my dad in the ways that I always dreamed of. I just wish my dad had a way to drive himself (and for us to pick him up in when he goes to the hospital). I always was taught by him to work for your money and never to beg or find the easy way out. I have always worked for everything I own and I risk my life everyday at work for people I do not even know. But I feel its time for him to enjoy life just a little better. Thank you for taking the time and reading about my dad and a small story about him. If you would want to learn more about my father I would be glad to inform you, and if you choose to donate to his life it would be greatly appreciated. So until next time, thank you God Bless you and have an amazing day.
