Struggling with debts

Hi. I’m 29 years old (30 in about 3 weeks) I live in the UK with my dad who is disabled after having a stroke around 12 years ago. I’m his full time carer and get carers allowance which is £67 a week and I also get some universal credit which is £190 a month. I am allowed to work and earn £100 a week on top of the benefits but I simply don’t have the time. The stroke my dad had was a bleed on the brain very near his brain stem which has left the right side of his body very weak. He uses a wheelchair and can not walk at all. He can stand up to transfer himself from his wheelchair to the stairlift and on to his bed but he can’t walk. The fact he’s put on a lot of weight doesn’t help things either. He’s 6ft and about 26 stone so getting up only using one half of your body on top of being that heavy is very difficult. Anyway I have to do everything around the house including cooking, cleaning, washing etc and that takes up alot of time. Plus I have to be here pretty much 24/7 in case my dad has a problem.

basically I have ended up getting in £4800 of debt due to a substance abuse issue I have been dealing with the past 18 months. I suffer with general and social anxiety and after being prescribed numerous medications from the doctor and them not working I turned to buying Etizolam online which is very similar to benzodiazepines. I took that for a couple of months in very high doses and realised I had an issue so went back to the doctors who helped me get off it. Whilst coming off the etizolam the withdrawals were unbearable so I used pain pills to numb them which inevitably lead to an opioid addiction. Then I heard about Kratom which has helped people get off opioids so started taking that which cost £60 per 250g which I went through every 5 days or so. I stayed on the Kratom for about a year until around 3 months ago when I decided enough was enough and I stopped. The withdrawals were hell for 2 weeks and for a few weeks after that I didn’t feel good at all but right now I’m great. The problem I have now is I’ve racked up nearly 5k in credit card debt and have to pay out absolutely everything I get each month towards that and it’s only just covering the interest. The 3 cards I have are all one you get to increase your credit rating so come with ridiculous interest rates. I can’t actually believe i got myself in this mess to be honest. I spent the first 28 years of my life never being in any debt at all and now over the course of 12-18 months I’m in this situation.

anyway thanks for reading this. This is a last resort and I feel pathetic having to do this but such is life. Cheers.
