Twelve years ago I arrived in Dubai as an Overseas Filipino Worker as I’m from the Philippines to find work to help my parents and siblings as well as my grandma who raised me at an early age. Luckily found a job with just enough salary like enough to send it to my parents as well to my grandma. In 7 straight Years, I wasn’t able to save funds for myself as I used the little funds left from my salary after sending most of them back home in Philippines to pay the small house and land monthly as we don’t have a house and lot back home at that time. In those years I used credit cards for my monthly expenses and I am paying with minimum per month. After paying the house and land lot completely for 7 years I manage to save funds for myself despite paying my obligation to the bank credit card, but after a year and a half I encountered challenging times my grandma became sick and she is in and out of the Hospital her medicine maintenance cost too high but I didn’t mind I used my savings whatever I have and I racked up a financial obligation as I wasn’t able to pay my credit card debt, once I exhausted everything but which is not enough she passed away. A year later 2019 my mom passed away due to an illness sort of like cancer although it is unconfirmed it is just sudden after she wasn’t able to made it to the hospital as she thought just an ordinary illness/sickness another spending. The financial obligation I racked during those times already ballooned I mean became huge but despite hardships, I try to settle those obligations monthly without saving anything for me until COVD19 came to the Middle East last year as UAE decided to lockdown the county around March and extend it to another month so on and so forth. When they open again the country for lockdown after 3 or 4 months some business company got closed while some resume operations like us but our salary was cut in half as no income to maintain the full salary of each employee. My effort to settle the financial obligation that I racked in the years prior suddenly futile as I prioritized my parent and siblings until I wasn’t able to settle it in promptly despite exhausting and trying other options just to manage it but to no avail, as they wanted more from me as more than I can afford and a case is looming against me because of this. That’s why I appeal for charitable donations from generous kind-hearted souls who are willing to help as any amount is a big help for my financial uncertainties.
