My name is Cole. Ive been married for 13 years and have 3 daughters. Back in 2006 my small family business was booming. I got married, paid everything thing off including my truck. We got married, paid for out own wedding and had 0 debt. My mother in law got really ill and we started paying her bills until she could sell her house. We invested several thousand dollars into helping her. We bought a new car because we had a growing family. We were renting my parents house from them. We were getting along fine. BUT had no saving because of the wedding and truck and mother in laws financial problems. Well shortly after we got married the economy totally crashed. I went from making $80k a year to less than $30 almost over night. The problem was out financial obligations were more than we were bringing in. I couldn’t stop paying rent, couldn’t lose the car, but had phenomenal credit so we started borrowing to feed our family and put gas in the cars and insurance and etc. We built up about $10k a year of personal debt per year during the recession which lasted about 6 years before the family business recovered. It still has not fully recovered. But our cost of living has gone up tremendously. At this point out debt is so high we can not get any kind of loan to even try and consolidate. We can not get a loan to buy a house. I need to get out from under this crippling debt so i can provide a home for my family. We are finally at a point where we are not accruing any more new debt. But we are just barely squeaking by and are not able to make any head way on getting out of this debt only being able to make minimum payments. To be totally out of this debt we would need $100,000 dollars. But $25,000 would at the very least wipe out the current credit card debt. $60,000 would take care of the personal loan we had to take out. Really anything would help. $1,500 to put in our savings for emergencies would get me through the end of the year. I hate begging, but I have reached the end of our limit and I just don’t know what else to do. Thank you for your consideration. I hope one day I will be in a position to help people again.
