I am writing because I really need $1,000 to help fund my music career. I’m in kind of a tough situation right now with work and in life. I just turned 20, I work 6 days a week as a music teacher while also gigging on the weekends and taking care of my new puppy. I absolutely love my job, I teach kids ages 6-18 how to play and perform music. The only down side, is I make lowest hourly rate out of any of my coworkers because I’m so young in comparison. And being young, I have my whole life to earn respect and hopefully a raise, but right now I’m struggling to finish paying for recording expenses for my band while also paying for life stuff (housing/gas/food). My band and I have been working so hard to make something great, and we have a release date set with one of our local venues, but now I’m worried that we won’t have enough to pay for all the expenses in order to finish recording and put on the show. I realize that this probably sounds like a total first world problem, and I’m really not the type of person to ever ask for help, but music is really the only thing that has been keeping me going. I’ve been battling depression for a long time, and more recently, an eating disorder. My mental health has really taken me over lately and everything has felt so hard and so hopeless. Music has been my entire life since the time I was 6 years old, and I’ve never felt so connected to music as much as I do with this band. This music, and this band that I’ve been playing with is honestly the only reason I’m alive, and all I want to do is share my voice with everyone willing to listen. It really goes further than finishing these recordings, because with these recordings we will be taken more seriously by venues and other booking agents out of state. This could completely change my world. For both my mental health, and for my overwhelming desire to share my voice and be heard. I don’t just want to gain something without giving back either, if you’re willing to help me, I will send you a code to download the songs once they are recorded and a band t-shirt in whatever size you wear.
