Hey everyone, thank you for taking the time to read our story. My husband and I seem to have gotten ourselves into a bit of financial overwhelm. We have both worked really hard our whole lives until I got sick back in 2008 and was disabled out of my state job of 22 years. I have been in a lot of pain and exhaustion and have completed and paid thousands of dollars in main stream and alternative treatments that have somewhat helped, but I’m still not feeling as well as I was before I became sick. Everyday is a struggle. In 2017 my husband was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and in 2023 he started treatment, he is doing well despite feeling weak and tired, but he is not working nor is he eligible for SSDI. He is a Navy vet and we are just now trying to figure out what we need to do to file for disability through the military. It is on us to prove that his cancer was caused by his military duties, and this seems to be rather difficult to prove. It’ll be a few years before he can draw on his retirement and I no longer have mine. Neither one of us consumes drugs or smokes, I don’t drink but hubby does on occasion. We have a garden that we enjoy working in – when we feel well enough to do so. We enjoy sharing our garden surplus with our family and neighbors. We really thought that we would be able to survive on my disability check of $1,800 a month, but everything has become so expensive that we have had to cut back to the bare minimum and have had to put some of our life on credit cards. In 2020, we moved across the US to a new home and had to purchase new solar batteries to the tune of $10,000 and $5,500 respectively. Additionally, paying for medical treatments has landed us in this downward spiral into debt hood. Our total credit card debt is $20,000. We are paying over $600.00 a month towards these debts and an additional $500.00 a month for propane and property taxes, insurance, etc. It is our hope that if we can reduce or get rid of this debt we will be in a better position to keep our heads above water. Never in our lives have we ever been in this much debt. We know every one is having a hard time during this horrid economy so asking for help is difficult, because honestly we’re not looking at homelessness or starvation like many others, we just need a little help to get us out of this debt. We try to do our best to live within our means, but right now, we are barely keeping our heads above water. Thank you again, in gratitude. PayPal Me: Dahlia0808.
