I am a 19 year old college student. I am a babysitter/mother’s helper, and due to the recent outbreak and global pandemic of the Coronavirus, I am unable to work. I pay $80 a month for my phone bill, $370 for car insurance, and have student loans that I pay down each month. I have my tuition coming up for my fall semester at school which is about $3,000, and at this rate, I may not be able to work for the next 2 months or more. I have paid for almost everything I own since I was 14 years old and started working. I bought my own car when I turned 17, and have been completely self-sufficient with paying my own bills and buying anything I need. So, as you can imagine, I haven’t been able to save much since my weekly paycheck is only about $100. Writing is my passion, and within the last two weeks, I self-published my own book called “Heartbreak and Healing,” that is available for sale on Amazon, but I am unable to market it as much as I wish I could, and my sales from the book do not go into my account until 6o days after the book ships. In addition, the actual fees of making the book, ordering proof copies, and being able to sell it put a dent in my financials. I also have a hospital bill from 2018 that I have been unable to pay in full, and my parents have been trying to help me pay it off, but they are also treading water with money right now. I have a credit card and have been trying to use that to buy necessities, but I know I’ll have to pay that money back, which makes me not want to touch my card at all. I have work I need done on my car (my brakes are bad and I need new tires and an oil change), but all I’m seeing is my savings deplete. People don’t realize how lucky they are to have jobs that they can still do at home and remain getting a paycheck during this time. I know that right now is a difficult time for everyone, but I ask those of you who can help to please do so. For those of you who have seen and read this, I already thank you for your time in hearing my situation out. For those of you who can help me in any way possible, I appreciate your generosity greatly. Thank you all, stay healthy, and stay safe!
