Hello ! My name is Angeli and I’m currently a student at the University of Regina.
I currently have an issue paying for this semester’s tuition. I am currently on student loans, but I accidentally used the funds from student loans to pay off bills that needed to be caught up. I’m now caught up with my bills but at the cost of having to pay for my tuition. I don’t want to rely on my parents to pay off the tuition for this semester, as I’ve already had financial aid from them before I started attending university (I went to trades school before this). Plus, my parents are facing their own financial issues, so I don’t want to have to rely on them just to pay off this semester. I feel bad having to ask my mother, as she is the main source of income since my father quit his job and now works doing maintenance for a private company. My mother works in the hospital, and also deals with Covid-19, so I don’t want to stress her even further by asking for financial aid.
My original plan was to work in between semesters since there’s a pretty large gap and I make a decent amount of money for a student when I work close to full time, but I want to be able to apply for fall classes right away but I cannot do that unless I pay this semester’s tuition. I currently work about 1 or 2 shifts a week, so it hasn’t really helped much with paying the tuition. I’ve also recently received my tax return, but even that isn’t enough to help. I’ve applied for several loans, but have been rejected from them all. The amount isn’t super high, I only need $1300 to pay this semester, then I should be set to apply for classes and be able to work from next month until August on full time hours. I’m hoping to save the money I’ve earned from working to pay for next semester and possibly earn a bit more to be able to afford my own car. Those two things are my current goals in between semesters. A little more money wouldn’t hurt, but I’m looking to get at least $1300 for my tuition. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get some donations in to help me pay off my tuition, as this is my current worry. I hope someone reads this soon, and is able to help. Thank you !
