Hello to anyone who reads this,
I’ve never really done anything like this before, but I figured there is no harm in trying, I suppose. My main goal and drive in life right now is to take (and pass) the A+ certification so I can start my career in IT, to give myself and kids a better life. The price to get that certification is hefty for me though.
I completed college back in 2010 and got my associates degree in computer information systems, as I’ve always be really interested in computers. Shortly after that I had 2 kids and school was permanently put on hold. I’ve done whatever job necessary to make sure my kids were able to have a roof over their head and always be fed, but it was always retail or fast food type jobs, nothing like an actual career job.
Fast forward to now, and my kids are grown up a bit so its become a little easier to take care of them, but being a single mom never becomes truly easy. I decided I’m finally ready to pursue my career in IT and have been studying for my A+ certification with the help of some classes from Udemy. The problem I have is that I live, literally, paycheck to paycheck and the certification exam cost is pretty expensive for me. The A+ cert has 2 core areas, which is basically two exams before you get the actual certification. Each exam voucher is $219, so $438 in total. Saving up enough for both exam vouchers will take me so long, it seems impossible for me without some sort of miracle happening.
If I could get the A+ done, I could move on to a much better job related to the field I’d like to go in, and then pay for my own further certifications I would need to move into cyber security. It will be a lot of work since I need to take Network+, Security+, CySA+, and hopefully ending at CASP+, but that is my career goal and I will get there one way or another; I just have to take it one step at a time.
Any donation what so ever would be absolutely mind blowing to me and I would be so grateful, because I’m just so used to struggling. Thank you anyone who read this. I uploaded a (terrible) pic to show the exam voucher prices and that I am actively studying for the cert.
