Dear Sir/Madam,
I am pleased to submit a request for financial assistance to pursue my Master’s degree in Business Administration – Entrepreneurship and SME Management at Laval University.
I’m currently taking preventive leave from work because of my pregnancy, and in addition to my tuition fees, I also must pay rent, groceries, and other necessary expenses. Unfortunately, my family can’t support me financially any more than they already do. I currently owe $9457.37 towards the university and if I don’t pay it on time, I won’t be able to register for the next session and I risk losing my study permit. Of course, I have documents proving that I am at the university, that my study permit is valid and a document to prove that I do have debt, and I am willing to share them with you.
Please see below is a summary of my background and motivation for my current studies:
During my previous studies in industrial engineering, I benefited from a multi-disciplinary curriculum enabling me to combine technical skills with business acumen. For my graduation project, I worked on the development of a new sorghum-based product, and this, combined with other volunteer experiences on organic farms, enabled me to discover the opportunities that agriculture can create to lift vulnerable populations out of poverty, food insecurity and wealth creation. That’s how I developed a passion for agri-food.
I’ve had experience working in a social agro-enterprise in Haiti, and I’ve worked at the heart of a project to produce peanut butter for export. As my next experience, I aspire to be part of the operations management of an agri-food plant, and for that I need not only the necessary technical know-how, but also management, marketing, and public relations skills. Doing an MBA-Entrepreneurship and SME Management is a real opportunity to strengthen my skills and acquire the knowledge I need to progress in my field. The program offered by Université Laval is structured in such a way as to enable me to develop my intrinsic abilities, but also to familiarize myself with management tools for solving concrete problems. This study will not only help me to progress in my professional life and grow within a company, but also, combined with the experiences I have and will acquire, I will have more baggage to create my own business and thus participate more actively in the development of the agro-industry.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please accept, Sir or Madam, my very best regards.
Coralie
