Hello to anyone reading my post this is my story.
I grew up in a financially struggling household. It was always my dream to attend university to pursue law to become a defense lawyer, from 12 years old to the time I graduated I had multiple part-time and summer jobs to fund my university studies which, I missed out on a lot of fun things my friends were doing because of this.
Once graduation came around I had saved up nearly $80,000 to fund my studies and I was beyond excited. Looking back it was definitely worth it, so I moved out for the first time to pursue my dream. That was 4 years ago.
All was going well for the first and second year, I was working a part-time job while doing school full-time. Things were looking very good. I managed to pick up a vehicle in my third year which was a huge accomplishment for me, but it was not a good decision. After a few months, it started to have problems and repairs kept adding up. I was going over my budgets each month and tried to pick up more shifts. I had to sell it which I barely received a fraction of the cost. This greatly impacted my funds.
To top it all off, I was out of work due to the pandemic for 6 months, and no matter where I applied I could not find work. I bought and flipped some stuff from local thirft stores just to make some money but it was not nearly enough. Desperate, with poor credit, I received a loan of $40,000 with an interest rate of 49.6%. I was first told 19.99% but there were underlying terms.
This forced me to drop out and work, I am currently working 60 hours a week at 2 jobs with around $72,000 worth of debt on a loan with interest, maxed out credit cards, and I am barely making it past each month with living expenses, and monthly payments.
I am not the type of person to ask for money but I am so over my head I have no idea what to do, I can’t move home and I am living in a very run-down apartment building. This post is my last resort.
Thank you so much to anyone who read my post, bless you and your family. If anyone reads this message and is considering low credit loans, please DO NOT go through with it because it will catch up to you and make it very hard for you to get back on your feet.
I am trying my best to get back on my feet so I can eventually finish off my degree, I would be more than thankful for any donation.
