I’m asking for some help paying my student loans. I attended SNHU and studied psychology and have hopes of going back to school to earn my MS in sport psychology. While I am grateful to have had the opportunity to attend college, it is rather expensive. While scholarships and grants were able to help, it was not enough to cover everything. I currently work full time and between loans and everything else (medical, car payments, vet, etc.) it would be great to have some help paying the largest bill I currently have.
I am turning to you for assistance in completing my degree in Psychology. I attended Argosy University beginning back in 2013. Believe me, getting in was no easy feat. When I initially applied I was informed that the high school diploma that I received from Cosmopolitan Prep in 1981 was invalid which I thought was crazy since I joined the Navy in November of 1982.
Anyway, I had to obtain my GED which I did in two days ( I went straight to the test since I knew what I knew.) and was granted admission to the university immediately after providing the document of successful completion. Being older than my peers I chose to do my courses as an online student. I did have access to the Chicago campus which I used frequently and made many friends.
I chose online because I needed to take care of my adopted son Michael who suffers from diminished mental capacity, doing classes on-line allowed for more time flexibility. Not long after starting I suffered my first heart attack. I was a full-time student with a full load of classes. I had passed the time frame to drop my classes so I received four incompletes. This meant I had to start again which I did, I was able to complete this round of classes but as fate would have it I suffered my second heart attack so again I had to stop my classes. This depressed me to no end, still, I did not give up. When I was able, I went back to school again. During this time I am seeing my cardiologist and on one visit I was informed that my heart was working at less than fifty percent with mitral valve prolapse, which lead to an ablation procedure. So again I had to stop classes and afterward again I went back to school. Finally, as you can see in the photo, in August of twenty-seventeen I received my Associate of Arts in Psychology. Not long after I found out that Argosy University would be closing its doors.
I was proud of myself for completing this phase of my education but I needed more in order to get a decent paying job in my chosen occupation.
Because I had dropped so many classes and had to do retakes, I depleted my available undergraduate loan allowance of $57,000. I am not getting any younger but I need (for myself) to finish what I have started.
I know the importance of education and I still have so much to give and due to my age I have not been able to get any steady position, however, I do know that with the proper credentials my prospects for employment would be greatly improved. I know that this is a time of crisis, so any form of assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you are interested I will keep you posted on my progress if you ask me.
Thank you in advance.
