First of all, thank you for taking the time and consideration for looking in to how you can help us.
My name is Aaron and I live in my car with my dogs (Kuma, & Sweet Pea) and my spouse (Darren).
At the end of 2021 things were looking great! We were both in lucrative jobs (prison monitors), on our way to paying off debts and able to afford a few nice things every now and again. Sadly, in February of 2022 we both lost our jobs working at the prison because one of the head resident managers accused my husband of sleeping with her husband and rather than investigate, since the other resident Manager had seniority, we were let go, to avoid further conflict.
Since February we have been evicted. We attempted to make ends meet doing Door Dash until one of us could get back on our feet, but soon we could no longer afford the debt consolidation fees every month, nor could we afford to make student loan payments, car payments, utility payments and we had fallen behind enough that all of our debts are back in collections and student loans will be resuming in October and we don’t know how we’re going to feed and house ourselves, let alone get back on track to get out of debt.
My husband decided he would go to college to get the job he has always wanted in funeral services and I can look for work in the area where that school is. So we’ll be moving to Salt Lake City at the beginning of August.
Because we have so much money in collections and my student loans are through the roof, he is using his GI Bill from the Army to pay for his schooling.
Our collections debt is a little over $25k. My student loan debt is right at $66k. Once I can land a new job I will begin to pay it off. Hopefully within the next 21 years (at the end of which I’ll be 66 years old) we can have all our debts paid off and maybe start to put something away for retirement.
The Request:
I am asking for $75,000 to pay off all of our debts as quickly as possible so that we can begin to save money for retirement. I don’t expect to get the full amount I’m asking for, any amount would be appreciated! And multiple donations from multiple people would still go a long way in helping us get to saving for our retirement faster.
If you can see it in you to donate to our cause we would be eternally grateful, or, if you can pass our story on to someone else who may be able to help, that too would be wonderful!
Please make donations to:

And please know, from the bottom of our hearts we thank each and every one of you who took the time to read about our request.
