Hi, I can’t believe I’m even on here asking for money but I don’t know what else to do for my family. And I don’t have any family that can help me out financially. I moved out exactly a year ago today from my house I had lived in for almost 8 years. I left after I found out my ex was having an affair my whole marriage and found out the hard way through a video on his computer. It was a very toxic relationship and it’s much better that my children and I left that. My children and I stayed all last summer in my friends step daughters bedroom in a twin pull out bed, all four of us. My children were 6, 3 and 2 at the time. My ex and I filed for divorce last July and I had to handle going through accusations one after the other, and he ended up disappearing with my kids for over three weeks. During that time I had to put $5000 down to retain a lawyer and fight for him to bring my children back home. I was only able to afford the $5000 by my friend that I was staying with, took a cash advance on her cc. I started working two jobs and saving as much as I could to get enough money to get my own place and give my children the room that they deserved. I was a stay at home mom my last two years at the house, and had absolutely no credit because my Ex had everything in his name. After racking up lawyer bills, I currently owe $20,000 in legal fees and after paying for mediation, and stating from absolutely nothing but clothes for my children and I, I found a place in October of last year. I was able to find a duplex I could afford comfortably and had to open a small $2000 loan for the deposit. Because of Covid hitting and being an independent contractor working for Shipt and DoorDash, I lost a lot of hours not being able to work with no PTO or sick benefits. My children all got sick as well as myself and those few weeks I quickly fell so behind on bills. For the first month since moving here I had to tell my landlord I didn’t have rent this month. And now will have extra late fees to pay on top of my $1200 owed. I currently have $64 to my name right now. That’s barely enough to cover a tank of gas and food for my kids this week. And on top of that, in March my Power Control Module in my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe broke. And it was not covered under warranty. It is going to cost me $1800 in extra fees for the part and labor. I still have not been able to pay for that and I currently drive around in an unsafe vehicle which is my means of work. I am a very hard working Mom who just can’t seem to catch a break the last four months. I appreciate any kind of help but really I need the $1200 to cover my rent this month so I can ensure my kids and I have a roof over our heads. I’m behind on all my bills as well. I just don’t know what else to do.
