Hello,
I am raising my granddaughter, who is 5 years old. I received full custody of her a 10 months ago; due to her mother being on drugs and has mental issues. My bills are behind; I’m just trying to make sure my granddaughter has what she needs. I would like to get a better job.
It’s hard to take certain shift; due to childcare is expensive and I cannot afford it. My granddaughter would have been in the system; if I didn’t step up and told the state, I would take her! she’s, my world. School is coming up soon and she needs school supplies and new clothes; she will be going to first grade this year. This year has been difficult for her. She was behind, when she went to kindergarten, and I had to get tutors for her and finally she was able to get ahead and not be held back in school.
Rent is hard to keep up and all my credit card bills are behind. I took out loans to help pay for things, bills and my grand baby tutors and other things a 5-year-old would need. High rent, inflation and groceries are making it hard to keep up with bills and things she needs as a child. I believe it, it takes a village to raise a child. This statement is so true. I just want to make sure I can take care of her and have the option get a better job.
I believe in working hard; just need to find affordable childcare. Summer is very hard, since she is out of school, and I cannot afford to put her in childcare or any type of summer activities or programs. I’m starting to have car trouble, the car is an older vehicle. I keep up the insurance and oil changes as well. I just want to keep her environment stable and get ahead of the bills. My granddaughter witness her mother doing drugs and tried to kill herself. I just want to help my granddaughter and position myself to get a better job.
Thank you for taking time to read my situation!
