Financial Hardship Help

Being a single mother especially in today’s era can be extremely overwhelming. If you are one of those mothers who is doing it alone every day you know what I am talking about. It seems like the bills just continue to pile up and never end.

Researchers have said that just in 2015 year ending alone over 80 percent of the households in America that we’re single households we’re in fact ran by a FEMALE head of household which we’re mostly living very poor.

Many people may say well there is government assistance for them to get a grant but it’s hard to find and information regarding that said topic anywhere. So in hopes to help the single mothers out in the world this article will give you some insight on the different assistance topics we can cover including where and how to get a grant or scholarship. Also, you will read and see how simple it is to receive help with income expenses and medical insurance.

Are there really grants for a single mother?

Of course they do but these grants are not only for single mothers. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t help for a mother to receive one. I know its mind boggling that the government hasn’t had any means created for money for a single mother that is actually in the shape of a grant. One thing the government does for a single mother is they assist them through a group or have set sponsors through a company, and sometimes they are covered by the actual income assistance completely.

Below are a few websites that will redirect you to free items that you can get just for registering on the website.

Low Income Assistance for Single Mothers / Government Grants

As I said there is not an official grant for a single mother available that is FEDERAL. However a single mother can go through federal programs and register and sign up for them. Those kinds of programs are usually for households with low income. Which means you would also qualify for Welfare. No matter what the case these are programs to help those who make below the limit and live poorly.

Below are different types of assistance based in the United States.

TANF – TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES

TANF is a crucial for many low income families located within the US.

With TANF you receive a small amount of cash every month that you can use toward your food, rent, and other necessities. However you only receive TANF for up to 60 month limit.

If you are a single mother and you have children in your home who are less than 19 years old you are eligible for TANF.

SNAP – SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Food-stamps or SNAP as other people may refer to is financial help for meals. You can receive money every month to place food on the table if you are on low or no income.

For most of Americans living in poverty SNAP is potentially the only assistance they can get.

Research has shown that in 2015 SNAP benefits have helped at least 45 million Americans. Most of the ones who receive the stamps are under are up to the age of 18.

When you go to use your benefits for SNAP you have your own personal debit card to ring your groceries up with at the register. If you are interested in trying to get on with SNAP benefits all you have to do is fill and application out and send it in or take it into a local office that deals with SNAP benefits.

NSLP – NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM

This is a program that gives free (or discounted) food to students whose parent’s income is bellow a poverty level. The income needs to be at least between 130-185 percent bellow the poverty line.

Most the time if a person is a receiver of SNAP benefits their children will be accepted into this program for free lunches. But, that doesn’t mean if you don’t have or receive SNAP that your children are disqualified.

You need to contact your child’s school to apply.

TEFAP – THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Food for the American families who are in the poverty range not matter what the age.

If you have received food stamps before or any other program assisting you and helping you such as the ones in this article you could also be approved for this program.

You will need to contact your State distribution agency to learn more about the Emergency food assistance program.

Local Food Banks

A food bank doesn’t exactly fit into the whole “Grant” program area as it is actually a location in your town where you can get food if you are in need.

Do not allow you or your family to go without food. If you ever reach that trouble you can call 211 and ask them where the nearest food bank is based on your location.

More then 200 food banks exist with the feeding america foundation and they supply enough food to feed over 40 million people.

WIC – WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN PROGRAM

This program includes a package deal where you as a mother are able to receive healthy foods, whether you are pregnant or a new mother, and also to children who are 5 or under.

WIC is a program that is temporary and only used for a short amount of time – usually between 6 to 12 months.

EARLY HEAD START / HEAD START

These programs are for children up to 5 years old.

You can receive free child’s medical and dental care along with their schooling, and dietary needs.

Find your closes headstart office on their website or call at 1-866-763-6481.

Insurance for unemployment

This is a special program which will pay you weekly if you are unemployed and it had nothing to do with you for you being fired or let go. You will only be able to receive this benefit for maximum 26 weeks. Different states have different benefit rules. But most states will average out at about 45% of whatever the average weekly income is.

Single mothers who are out of a job temporarily can find solace with these benefits and can help make the burden less for themselves because this pay will restore what you have lost from losing your work.

If you want to try and get this started and opened for you, you will have to find your local unemployment office or apply on the website for this specific program. Most states will allow you to also try to sign up for this over the phone.

Section 8 housing

Section 8 is basically a program that helps a family be able to pay for their housing. If approved you will receive a voucher of up to 70 percent of your bills (utilities and rent). You are expected to pay the other 30 percent.

If you want to apply and feel you qualify you can get in touch with your local office involved with public housing, the HUD office.

CCAP – CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

This is a benefit for families who can’t afford to place their children in daycare while working.

You still have to pay a certain percentage but it isn’t a big lump of money. The less you earn, the less you need to contribute.

EITC – Earned Income Tax Credit

It is a tax benefit for people with low income. You could potentially get as much as $6,000.

If you normally have a tax rate of $1050 but you are allowed $5550 then you get refund of $4500.

There is a Children’s Tax Credit too for as much as $1,000 for EACH child.

LIHEAP – LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

LIHEAP is a program that is a one time help to help pay for heating / cooling expenses.

Most of the time this is for the disabled or families with children or disabled person in the home.

WAP – WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Weatherization assistance program lowers energy bills for families in need. Usually the elderly and families involving children are accepted and put to the top of the list before all.

Your monthly income need to be below 200 percent poverty level.

To apply, find a local WAP center.

Medicaid

Medicaid is help with medical expenses. If you do not have health insurance this gives you certain benefits as long as your income restriction meets the level it should.

A lot of single mothers may meet the standards to be recipients of Medicaid even if you are unemployed.

Every state has different rules about Medicaid plans. You can find out exact requirements on this website.

Together with ObamaCare it ensures that even single mothers who didn’t receive any health benefits will now be able to have coverage.

CHIP – CHILDREN HEALTH INSURANCE

CHIP gives children without health insurance a chance to have health benefits all the way up until they are nineteen. It is for families whose income is too high to receive Medicaid benefits.

It provides every type of benefit you can think of — dental, eye exams, and even annual doctor’s exams.

Federal Pell Grants

Aid program for students of up to $5,815 for those in need to be able to set foot into college.

This is the best opportunity for a mother who is single to finally be able to finish her schooling and finally continue in the workforce. The money is completely free of charge with no interest rates or paybacks ever.

You need to fill out an application and submit it for a pell grant and have it turned in on or before June 30th of every year.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant

Similar to the Pell Grant. If you already have had pell grants and you are at the top of the charts in need you will be first on the list to receive this. Depending on a persons needs that are wrapped in with their financial struggle will ultimately decide who will receive anywhere between $100 too $4,000 annually.

Charities

Charities can be a way to seek help for you and your children whether you are in need of food or clothing or even housing. A lot of charities around the world actually have their own food banks that they run and they will give you bags of free food.

If you go to salvation army a lot of the times they will let you sleep there if you have no where else to go especially if it is a result of violence.

Churches

Most churches will offer you food and clothes or maybe even a place to stay if you have been recently kicked out by the one you are living with.

To find information on this you should look through your phone books local listing or yellow page. You can also research online and see what churches are available to your area and call them and ask what services they do offer.

Loans

Single moms can receive loans usually relatively quickly but I would not recommended that at all. You could potentially go into debt and not be able to rise back from that.

Sometimes you have no choice because you have to fix your broken car or maybe pay for utilities and food and need the help right then. But you have to be able to pay that loan realistically quick.

Pay attention to your credit because if you try to get a loan through a bank or anyone they will check your credit score and see if it is even available to be able to place a loan out to you. If it is a loan that is for payday loans or credit card advances they will not run a check but you will end up paying more after fees and costs.

Line of Credit

If your credit is decent some people ask a bank for a loan personally. Most of the time this is a better idea then asking for a payday loan because if you need quick money with lower rates of interest this is it.

Personal Loans

On a personal loan interest is lower dramatically but you have to pay in instalments. It doesn’t really fit criteria for an emergency. Normally if you just tell them you do not have any more funds and that is why you need this they will turn you away. If your credit is poor you will not be able to even touch this offer.

Short term (payday) loans

This is a very popular type of loan. You may know it by the term “Cash advance.” The interest runs really high on these and it is a loan that is only for a small time frame.

This is a loan that would more then likely be considered if a problem arises and you needed to repair your car or had a disastrous dental emergency. You have to know for sure you will be able to give every penny back.

If you do not pay this type of loan back you could be in loads of trouble financially.

Credit card cash advance

Do you own a credit card? If so you will be able to get money from a bank as easy as 1, 2, 3. This is not a method that is highly praised though because as soon as you start taking money out of the bank the interest keeps rising and you also are charged for using and pulling out of the bank a fee. This is potentially the easier options if you do need cash asap but you have to pay it back and make sure you absolutely can.

When it is all said and done grants will not solve your money issues within your home if that is what you expect. To get a grant is definitely not easy it isn’t a walk in the park by any means.

If you are looking to get a more stable source of financially being stable you should probably look in areas around you or find a women shelter until you can get back up on your feet.

If you think you have all the time in the world you can apply for other areas of assistance such as Food stamps, HUD, and etc. They do take a lot of time and effort for someone to get back with you and let you know if you have been accepted and enrolled. Try finding a part time working job as a way to financially start becoming stable again.

The moral of this is you can not expect a grant to fall into your hands without effort and take all your worries away. They are only here too do one thing and that doesn’t usually fix anything with your financial setting.

Single widowed Mom

I hope this message finds you well. I am a widowed single mom of 2 who is in desperate need of some help right now. My husband passed away in a bad car accident which left me drowning in debt and facing financial hardship with thousands in hospital bills, mortgage, school fees etc

Single mom of Autistic kids need help!

I am a mother of four children, two of which are autistic. They are amazing wonderful children, very affectionate and loving but with that comes a financial hardship due to my children being autistic, they attend developmental therapy, occupational therapy, ABA therapy and speech therapy, which consumes a large portion of my schedule, leaving me unable to work, this is a problem because my kids do not receive any type of Social Security disability or any assistance and at this point of our life, we are wanting to relocate into a home so that we no longer have to be confined to a townhouse where my children don’t have a backyard to run. In the midst of this our 2006 dodge Durango is taking a dive worsening our hardship and making it impossible to attend any of the appointments without a vehicle. Homeless Full House

Two single moms with no deposit for a new place. We have applied for housing vouchers but haven’t been picked. And we’re surprised with a baby in February. My sister in law has 3 kids and I have a newborn that was a blessing in disguise. And it’s getting expensive and hard for us to collect the money for a deposit on a place to live. We will hopefully be able to handle the month to month, but coming up with the deposit has been impossible for us. We hate to have to ask for help, but we are struggling with finances and working so hard to get ahead but can’t seem to catch a break. My sister in law totaled my car, and with only liability and it was a hit and run. We hate to be on here asking for help, but what’s the worst that could happen?? Things can’t get much worse for our household. Down to one barely working truck and no place to call home is stressful! Hoping someone has some kindness left in their heart to help us out. Single mother stranded with baby

My situation is a little bit complex, because I have a 7 months old baby. I’m living in the USA, but cannot work due to lack of employment authorization documents (EAD). My lawyer says I can get the EAD in 3 months while they process my work permit application, but I need to pay the lawyer $2500 (so far she is the cheapest that I could find). Besides the legal fees, there’s another amount of $1200 filing fees that goes to the government.

The other concern is accommodation. The people who have been accommodating us basically told me a month ago that my time here is up. I have considered looking for a shelter for us, but I’m also afraid the baby will get sick being exposed to living with a lot of different people in one room or hall. We don’t have health insurance. The funds/savings that we came with has depleted very quickly, because the value of the money that I came with became very small due to the exchange rate of my country. I try to breastfeed the baby as much as I can so that her immune system is strong, but she’s growing and breast milk alone is no longer enough. She needs infant cereal, formula, nappies, clothes, etc. I also need money for food, toiletries, transport for when I have something to do, and a new or used phone (the one I have is broken and data doesn’t work – telecommunication company told me that it’s because my phone was only meant to work in my country). I absolutely need to have a fully functional phone as it is the main form of communication in case I’m lost or stranded. I also use it to access my emails and do research.

Because I’m not allowed to work or claim state benefits, I anticipate that I could remain in this desperate situation up to 3-6 months. If I’m able to file the work permit application now, then I believe I should be able to work in 3 months, because I have applied for several jobs within my field, I attended so many interviews, but non were willing to petition for me because it costs them money and they have to prove to USCIS that there is no American who is qualified, able or willing to perform those tasks-which is impossible to prove because there are a lot of other people in my field, doing the work that I do.
Every little bit of assistance will mean a lot and will be much appreciated.

Need help with rent and bills

Single Mom feeling overwhelmed..

Hello, I’m a single mother of three. After being married for several years I went through a nasty divorce from their Father who really doesn’t help out. However I can’t focus on that at that moment.

I honestly enjoy being a Mom my kids give me so much strength, However raising three wonderful children on my own has it’s challenges at times, But I do my best to faced them head-on with faith and determination.

I lost my job, the very lifeline that helped me provide for my children. I’m worried, and at times I find myself down in spirit. How will manage to pay the bills and put food on the table?

Determined to provide for my children, I’m swallowing my pride and reached out to family, and friends and now on this platform. By posting on this website I’m hopeful that some kind hearted people will be able to assist with financial support and/or resources that will enhance our lives during our current hardship.

My days have become a whirlwind of job applications, interviews, and networking. I refused to let despair or depression consume me, knowing that my children are watching me. With each rejection from assistance program and job application for new employment I do my best to remain strong, fueled by the love from my kids,family and friends.

Meanwhile, I’m grateful that few of my family members and friends have done what they can with providing rides to and from some appointments.

But as the months begin to pass; while looking for a new job the bills are still coming in for the next month. I received a notice to my rent within the next 3 weeks and my car was repossessed last week. I’m determined to hang in there and stand through it all. However I made a promise to never be homeless again. But I have received a call from a local company who has received my resume and will keep me in mind for a job that matched my skills but I need to provided stability for my family.

One thing that this journey of life has taught me is that everyone faces adversity at some point. However with faith, determination, and the right support of a caring community anyone can overcome any obstacle and create a brighter future for themselves and their loved ones.

Single Mother In Need

My name is Reshundra but most call me Shun for short. I currently reside in Birmingham, AL. I’m a single mother of two teenage children that I devote my whole life to. There is alot that I want to be able to provide for them but unable to because I have fallen behind on bills. In March 2022, the kid’s father stopped paying child support. It has become a financial burden for me to pay bills and aftercare expenses, not to mention other bills that are mandatory. He is currently 12,000 behind in back child support, which I had no choice but to take him to court. This eventually led him at the county jail for 7 weeks and still no support coming from him at this time. I’m currently working a part time job of 28 hours a week and odd on-call jobs (independent contracting) to make additional money.

I divorced their father back in July 2018 due to irreconcilable differences (different religions). There were also other transgressions that eventually led me to walk away from the marriage. My immediate family was not financially stable enough to take us in so I had to live in a shelter after the separation. The local shelter placed us in transitional housing for a year until I found something long term. Because of my ex husband’s emotional abuse, I sought housing at the YWCA. The YWCA provides housing to mothers with children that have experienced abuse of any kind. I have lived here for 5+ years.

While living at the YWCA, I have gone back to school and obtained a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. I am currently seeking work fulltime in my field so that I able to support my kids without the help of their father. The financial strain has caused me to take out loans and deplete my 403b to pay for school throughout the year. It has not been easy trying to make ends meet and having to choose which bill is more important to pay first, only to still be in need of a necessity. I’ve been working really hard to set a good example for the kids and be the best mom that I can be, despite the heavy load that I carry.

I plan to use the funds for bills, debts, loans, groceries, eyecare, clothes/shoes, business investments, Summer travel and possibly moving into a bigger space before the kids return back to school in August.

Single mom, desperately needed help with bills he left us with

I am not the one to normally ask for help, but I desperately need it. I’m going to try to make this as short as possible, it’s really so much to explain.

I am a single mother of two, son 11, daughter 8. Their father has been in and out of their lives for the last 11 years. He is a drug addict, so he would get clean and come home and then he would use and I’d kick him out. I finally put my foot down and said no more, and we didn’t hear from him at all until 4 years later, I get a phone call from jail. I had prayed to let him go and he just pops back up to mess things up. Well, this time he was going to prison. Total time spent 2 years. In that time he was calling everyday (I told him to prove himself and build a relationship with his children) we spoke and of course, also rebuilding ours.

So he gets out of prison, couldn’t leave the state he was in until he could transfer home, so I was helping with money for hotel rooms for him and his dad and gas to get back and forth there. He gets transferred and is home and everything was great (oh did I mention this entire time I was sick, and I mean autoimmune sick and didn’t know what it was yet was going through a bunch of testing). He told me he wanted me to stay home and take care of the kids, and he will work and pay the bills. Well I took care of the kids, also homeschooling them and he was working and kept working almost everyday. Things took a turn and he would accuse me of sleeping with the maintenance man or the apartment manager if I had to go see him. I was always the one in the wrong and had things to work on that he constantly pointed out but I (dumb) was willing to work on whatever it was to make our family work. He never would apologize or hear me when I would state my needs or ask him to work on something like spending more time at home and helping me with the kids. I cooked and cleaned and did all our laundry (I boycotted once and the house turned into a disaster, and he went and washed his own clothes and none of ours or even the kids) I have so much that I ended up having to put my daughter back in school because having a toddler and trying to homeschool two kids is hard. I drove her to school everyday, they both had been going to counseling and he wouldn’t ever take them to that or my son to speech therapy or the doctors or anything when it came to our two. But he never let me do any of that for his youngest, and called me shady once for having her information from cps to set her a doctors appointment…. Things were just terrible. I am human and know when I am wrong and can admit that, the more frustrated I got with everything, the thinner my patience got with everything, including the kids and yes I would yell sometimes when they hadn’t listened to something I had said to do or not to do for the 17th time. The kids and I were suffering and he didn’t even care to help, literally sleep until 10:45 cuz he had to be to work at 11, not get home until dinner eat and then go upstairs… I let it go on for so long because at least he was finally here right? Ugh

We all got sick, found out our apartment was filled with black mold and extremely toxic so we moved.

While moving he helped a bit but then the next day was in bed while the rest of us (our kids, his dad and I) kept moving things. (Mind you, if I overwork my body I get terribly sick and my body shuts down on me and I’ll be down for days) I called pge, to switch the bill to our new place and find out that we are $2200 (and counting) behind! Mind you he was supposedly to be paying the bills, I paid for internet because I homeschooled, and rent. The lady works with me and we come up with some payment plan.

I called suburban for our gas and he hasn’t payed that either and that’s over 1600!!!!!  This man didn’t pay anything and didn’t pay rent, no bills nothing. Then fights with me about putting suburban in his name because I can’t, because we have an outstanding bill in my name (All bills were in my name it was my apt) so he lied to me for three months saying he did the suburban and I get mail for it in someone else’s name. He still tried to say that they were wrong. I still don’t have suburban in my name, and suburban is trying to help me as best they can because my apartment manager is on my tail about it not being switch over yet. He has been more than patient and that is only because suburban and I have both stayed in contact with him every week.

The thing is if he would have just told me flat out he wasn’t going to put it in his name, I could have gotten help for a program with it since it wasn’t considered an old account yet. But since he did not, and I didn’t find out until late March, it was too late to seek help from the program.

We moved in in January… it’s now June.

During all of this, I hadn’t gone out not even 1 time in 18 months, my friends that happen to be my neighbors invited me to a movie to go watch Magic Mike the last dance and the entire week leading up to the movie (that happened to be on his daughters 3rd birthday but I figured since it was a school night and we normally have the kids in bed about the same time I didn’t think it would be a big deal, as I said, I never got to go out). I was called all sorts of names and treated like a piece of crap the entire time because he was convinced I was going to a strip club but wouldn’t talk to the people I was going with.

The day of the movie I almost didn’t go because he had me in tears as I was trying to get ready and he didn’t have or set any plans for the baby’s birthday and didn’t want me to, but I still got her gifts and decorated the house, couldn’t get her cake while I was at the store getting our sons, his birthday is the day after because he had to be the one to get it. Didn’t want me to cook dinner cuz we were going to go out and decided to go the opposite way to a different town to eat, where it was snowing knowing I would be late for the show. I went took pictures of where my car was parked and of my ticket and everything and told him I expected an apology.

Middle/April I gave their dad an ultimatum after a few weeks of no communication what so ever to either apologize to me for how he treated me over the movie situation and put the suburban in his name or to get out. He decided to take his daughter he has custody of, and bounced on my kids once again, while my daughter was having issues of jealousy between her dad and her little sister because she never had her dad, and now he was there but he was so terribly hard on her, and she felt like he never had time for her.

Then, just a few weeks ago, I walk out to my car gone it got repossessed, because he took over payments and I figured I was a month behind because he had only been gone a month, but no he hadn’t paid it in 5 months! And in between all this my best friend died.

Life hasn’t been very kind to my kids and I lately. And we just need some help. I’ve asked him, and he hasn’t helped, believes he doesn’t and shouldn’t have to because he bought some house hold supplies when we needed it… you know like normal people who pay all their rent and bills do and at this point I don’t want anything to do with him. He has even cut back on working because of child support and wants my children half the time, mind you he lost his rights in court when my daughter was 18 months old, it was me allowing him to be apart of their lives. He has left us upside down, and ruined everything I worked hard for.

I have learned my lesson, but I desperately need help getting out of this debt and starting new.

I am working again now as my health is improving, but I still have a hard time with my body cooperating sometimes, and it’s already hard living paycheck to paycheck without having the debt he has helped accumulate.

I feel terrible asking for a set amount. We were gifted a car, and are able to get to work and appointments  now, for that we are so grateful.

I’ve finally hit rock bottom!

 I have finally hit rock bottom and I’m not really sure what else to do before I’m without shelter and other basic needs. I’ve never had to ask for help nor did I ever want to no matter what I was dealing with in my life. At one time I was happily married and owned a beautiful jewelry store that we worked very hard at opening. I was always that person who would give to others when I had it and it made me happy to do so. Eventually due to unforseen circumstances, my husband and I would end up in a divorce that took everything I had. My credit was mainly used during our marriage because I always kept it in good standing and he had some past issues that he was still working on to fix his. So through our divorce I lost my business, house, vehicle and my excellent credit. On top of it all he was trying to keep custody of our son and that was not going to be an option even if it meant me losing everything else I owned. He was very spiteful and took me back and forth to court knowing that my son was the only one thing that meant the world to me and I would never part from. Gratefully I won custody but I was starting from the bottom up again and all alone with my son. In our divorce decree he was ordered to pay me the minimum of child support because he would lie and keep most of his earnings off the books. So I was only supposed to get $330 a month but I never saw any of that because he would end up moving to Peru and starting a new family and business down there. Needless to say here I am now completely broke but still raising my son into a great man. I’ve kept up with my basic bills until this past December when I was laid off my job and my mom was rushed to the hospital and put in ICU on a ventilator. The doctors were telling me that she was basically shutting down and I wanted to spend every day by her side. She eventually came off the ventilator and our prayers were being answered. It took awhile before she was sent to a rehab to learn to walk and gain her strength back but then she fell off the bandwagon again and was sent back to the hospital. This time she was set up for a heart Cath procedure and during this the dye they used would cause her kidneys to shut down completely. So once again she was sent back to the ICU and in worse shape then the first time she was in there. They had her in there for a couple weeks and had decided dialysis was the only way she would live at this point. So here I am trying to be by my mom’s side and find work again to keep a roof over our heads but I was having it extremely hard. I’ve fallen behind and I’m now trying everything possible to be there for my mother thru all these health obstacles while trying to financially survive myself. I’ve lost 4 family members since Dec and 2 very close family friends as well. This has been the hardest time for me and I just want to be able to catch up again and pay off some of my debt to rebuild my credit and live comfortably while having a little time with my mother when I can. Family is very important to me and my mother was always there for me growing up as she raised us kids all by herself. As soon as I’m back on my feet again and have some extra money I plan to pay it forward once again. I know there has to be someone somewhere that has a heart like mine and I would be forever grateful for their help so I can recover from all of  these financial burdens. In the event that my mom recovers and I can put everything back into work, I plan to get myself back up that ladder somehow and next time stay up! Finally left a long term domestic relationship, that has left me seriously ill.

Hello, My names Megan.

This is my first experience asking a stranger for financial help, it is a feeling that doesn’t sit too well with me.

My ex  has left me list of loans and gambling debts up to £12,000 in my name, that i am being hounded to pay back,  he abused and vandalized the home we were building for our young daughter and when it came to separating he burnt all of mine an my daughters belongings, he left us with nothing but the clothes we had on our back. We have received emotional support from a local women’s charity that support DA victims.

We was together for 9 long years, the first 4 years he never drank or took drugs, then once he was consumed by the drink, drugs and gambling he became physically abusive towards myself, to the point I was in hospital for days on end, making up lies to cover the marks on my face an body. The mental damage seems to keep causing pain, my whole body shut down after he burned our things, leaving my body with many conditions, effected by my nervous system and fitting often, i am learning to live with this. I am grateful that my daughter never had to see just how vile her dad truly was and that she was spared the suffering of ptsd that i now face. How do i tell my sweet little baby that her dad can’t be near us or that we can’t go home to the place she was growing so beautifully?

All I am seeking is kind support,  to help me, provide for my baby girl and what she deserves, a healthy foundation to grow from. A warm roof with a bathtub, fresh cloth’s on her back and clean socks on her little feet and a full tummy. All of this would make me a really happy mummy, I am not concerned about my needs so much as long as i can provide for my little one. I do seek some child care support so that i can get myself fit and health and also rest, i haven’t eaten a good healthy meal in so long just so that i can make what i have last so my daughter can eat okay.

My body is not at its full working state yet and the doctors have told me to do everything i can to be less stressed and rest, but how does one do that in this situation? i am constantly worried about Ivy, money, food, bills, debts, nightmares, panic attacks, ect.. and with the cost of living on the rise. If i didn’t have my sweet little peach, i honestly dont think i would be sat here now.

So i guess any kind donation would really mean the world to us right now, whether that be enough to get milk or enough for me to go shopping for my princess and replace the things she has lost out on.

I was raped and now I’m pregnant

I am asking for donations to help me pay my rent, bills, and to take care of my baby who is due in July 2023. Last year, I was raped and became pregnant. I am already a single mom with a 5 year old son, and I work full time at a grocery store. My doctor recently took me out of work because I have a high risk pregnancy and have been in and out of the hospital with a lot of complications. I am barely making enough to get by. Because of my beliefs, an abortion was not an option for me. I want my daughter back

I worked very hard to get where I was in my career.  I supported myself and my daughter, I never had to depend on anyone for anything. 

 

On April 1, 2015, I was laid off along with thousands of other people, due to the economic downturn in Alberta.  I applied for jobs for almost 4 years, with not so much as a call back.  When the pandemic hit, there weren’t any jobs to apply for.  I gave up all hope of furthering my career. 

 

I lost my home that I owned, I lost my car, and eventually lost everything I worked so hard for. 

 

I tried to shelter my daughter from what was going on in my life, but I know there were times I couldn’t keep it together.  My situation has impacted her in ways I couldn’t even imagine.  She started drinking and doing drugs at 14 years old.  I didn’t even know until she was 16 and in a drug induced psychosis.  She was admitted to the psych ward for a month.  I neglected my daughter and was not there for her when she needed me most.  I didn’t provide for her, I failed her.

 

The doctors and school counselor convinced my daughter that she would be better off away from me because I wasn’t able to provide any stability in her life.  They successfully turned her and my family against me.  I take full responsibility for not being the mom she deserved, but I did not do anything deliberately to hurt her.  I was stuck in a depression that I am still suffering from.

 

The best times that my daughter and I shared were when I was driving.  it didn’t matter where we were going or what we were doing, we listened to music, danced and sang.  It was an escape for both of us and we were together.  When I lost my car, I lost my sense of security.  I drove my kid wherever she needed to go and i picked her up when she called, in the middle of the night many times.  If she was late or I didn’t know where she was, I could go find her and bring her home.  It is very hard to look for someone on the bus. 

My daughter’s boyfriend introduced her to Fentanyl and took her to trap houses.  I don’t want to lose my daughter.  

 

I am lost in life, I don’t know what to do.  I do know that I will never stop fighting  

 

I am asking for help to pay off the astronomical amount of tickets I have accumulated, get my license again and get a vehicle that runs.  I want my little girl back and I want to find happiness again.  There are times that I have borrowed a friend’s vehicle and picked her up, her face lights up, she gets in and we drive, with not a care in the world, it’s just me and my kid, nothing else matters!!

Single mom behind on bills

Hi, I’m Abbie. I have three kids. Recently had to tak three e a leave of absence from work due to my health. I’m trying to keep up with all my bills and support my family, but finding it hard to do. I’ve fallen behind on almost all my bills. My children are growing fast and need bigger clothes and supplies for school, along with the necessary things for everyday life, like personal hygiene and cleaning supplies. I’ve never asked for help before and it is humbling. I appreciate any and all help I can get.

My health has been ok, but going downhill and I’ve tried for as long as I could to stick with it. Eventually, it gets to be too much and I had to try and get help. But, if I’m unable to work, I am unable to sufficiently provide for my family.

My kids mean the world to me and I do the best I can. I feel I am failing them and that is a very heavy burden to carry. There aren’t many people in my life willing to assist me. Those that are, are limited with how much they can give. For, they have lives and families of their own to support.

I don’t have any outrageous expenses. I keep life as simple as possible. I’m still paying on my vehicle, which I need to get to my doctor appointments, and the store. My car insurance has lapsed, plus the payment for the vehicle is behind. Both of which could cause me to lose it.

I have electric and rent bills due. I really don’t want to lose the last stability I have left.

I have faith that things will work out for good. I know that there are so many good people in this world. Even though, the days seem dark sometimes, there is always some hope. I thank anyone and everyone who is willing and able to help me! May the good you give out come back ten fold!

I know many of you can understand how hard it is to be in this situation and have to ask for help, when we’ve been taught to help ourselves. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always come easy, and the best we can do isn’t enough. All I can do is ask for help and hope for a better outcome for tomorrow. Not so much for me,but for my kids. They shouldn’t have to go without because of my weaknesses.

Help An Abused Single Mom of Two Little Girls Stay Afloat While Trying to find a Job

I’ve never been one to borrow or beg, because simply before I had children I was able to have a stable job and a good financial career even if it was working minimum wage at the time. (For a woman without children this can make ends meet!~)
I started dating my girls father back in 2010 online (yes I know these places weren’t reliable back then; probably still aren’t.) and several years of this later in 2017 we decided to try to live together. By 2018 I was pregnant with my firstborn daughter Ara who finally came late in May. (Mind you at the time I’d been told by several doctors that I’d never have children of my own, and if I got pregnant the chances of a miscarriage were high, and if I managed to carry to term I would very likely die on the operating table..)

Everything was fine for the first two and a half years, and then I was having our second born who we named Lily and she was a complete surprise! That’s when life went downhill, as a newborn my youngest cried a lot and made a huge fuss every night when we settled down to sleep. This lead to my boyfriend kicking me out of my own bedroom and taking it over which I tried to overlook as him just needing sleep for his job. It got worse still when he began to abuse me and withhold finances and the ability to get or obtain food (many nights I went hungry five and almost six days in a row to make sure my daughters ate) I was determined to try to keep the peace because having food for my daughters and a roof over their heads meant more to me than whether I carried a few bumps, bruises, or missing teeth out of the encounter foolish I know.

Then he went completely off the rails and one day while I was correcting my eldest daughter 4 at the time for something she’d done, he comes barging in the room and attacks her, I did my best to get between them as he’s much taller than I am (only 5’3 and have a bad back) in which point he switched his focus and started hitting me. It was clear if this man ever loved me once he no longer did if ever, and it had seemed he was under the impression he was stuck here by commonlaw marriage. Well upon looking further into it this year he found he was under no actual obligation to us packed up his things, and promptly left the house leaving me with no job, no money, and no way to pay for bills or food for my girls. I’m currently asking for $5,000 dollars just to pay the bills off for a few months and to budget food while I’m scrambling to find a job nearby or even two in order to afford finances to properly take care of my girls.

I know there’s no way anyone would just willingly give that kind of money away so that’s why I’m here begging for donations that will likely mean the difference between whether I can take care of my daughters or whether I have to watch the state separate us to keep them from going hungry. These little girls are all I have left in this world, please I’ve never had to ask or beg for money before but everywhere I’ve tried to obtain an emergency loan has turned me away outright and I don’t know what else to do. I barely eat anymore to make sure my girls have (trying to stretch out canned food in the pantry for meager meals for them while pretending I’ve already eaten to keep them from feeling bad for me and refusing to eat as well is one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever had to do) and calling repeatedly my utility providers begging them for extensions on our bills because we’re experiencing a financial emergency only goes so far and the end of the line is coming all too fast…without help this time I know I’m going to lose them, and then what point is there in my even being on this world if I can’t be with my two daughters which were easily miracles. I’m a good mother, I’d do anything for my girls, even if it comes down to begging strangers online for help. If I can’t obtain enough money before the eleventh of May we’ll be out of food and on the streets please help me keep from having to tell my daughters that for their birthdays the only thing their mom can give them is a one way ticket to homelessness or being taken by the state..

Hello my name is Amanda. I am a single mom of three kids. Two daughters and one son eleven years old, six years old and 7 months old. I am currently going through a divorce with my abusive husband.
