Before you delete this, please give me 2 minutes to explain myself! My name is Nichole Mullins and I’m writing to you asking for some help. I am currently 60 days behind on payments for utilities and bills and although I am working a day job and picked up a delivery job after hours, I am unable to get caught up. I was fostering a Special Needs kiddo last year and was unable to work more than one job as I needed to care for her and my own two kids. We were able to find her a permanent home back in April and since then I’ve been playing catch up with my bills and trying to keep afloat. What I’m asking for is $3,000 and this is to get my bills caught up on payments, purchase new tires for my car so I can keep commuting to work every morning and delivering in the evenings and weekends (they are in need of replacement after 50,000 miles put on car since I got it 2 years ago) and to get my kids to their visitation with their Dad and family in the Bay area and L.A. area. I currently have a car loan with my credit union and because of that, I’ve been turned down from Freedom Debt Relief Consolidation because of the loan. I was also turned down for a personal loan from my credit union because my debt is higher than my yearly wages. I currently bring in $24,000 a year.
Why am I in so much debt you ask? After becoming a single mom 6 years ago, I went straight back to school to get degree and worked full time, but after graduating 3 years ago, I wasn’t able to find full time work in the school system and had to live off my credit card to make ends meet. I am now maxed out at $17,000 on my credit card and $3,000 on my WalMart credit card. My statements will show it was food, household needs and bills that were paid for, nothing frivolous. Up until August, I was barely keeping up with minimum payments until my car registration and back to school needs came up and it set me back. Now, I’m behind in payments and I just want to get caught up and hopefully one of the many applications for a second job will come through as I continue to do deliveries with PostMates in the meantime to make extra cash. If you’re going to ask why I don’t apply for government aid, I do not qualify for it and they do not cover child care services anymore so I have that added bill. The money made from the deliveries is supposed to help pay the bills as they come up but it’s mostly paying for groceries that I can’t keep up with either.
At this point, I’m asking for any help financially and that means if you have any resources or information you could pass on to me to help during this trying time, I would appreciate it! I truly believe in paying it forward and I do that whenever I can. I also believe in paying back so if that’s something that could be worked out, I am willing to set up payments to pay back any donation. I really just want to get caught up and find a second job to take care of this debt.
I appreciate your time,
