I’m a young at heart 56 year old woman-owned business which I am very proud about! I have a business degree, graduated Cum Laude. I worked for a global company for nearly 30 years, where in late years they continued to take away more and more….health benefits, overtime pay, vacation was not approved, it just became difficult to continue to work for a company I had originally liked a lot! It was making more and more money, but giving less and less benefits to their employees. So I left. I wanted to strike out on my own. I started a Medicare Healthcare business which is helping people find the right healthcare for their particular needs, and is just a joy to do! I enjoy the population of people I work with, and helping them ongoing with any plan questions or issues. The only hard part is that it is Medicare, so it is highly regulated (this is GOOD as it protects those on Medicare) but equates to a lot of studying and understanding of their rules so that we do everything right….not difficult just time consuming since the government tends to change rules every year. Through lots of hard work and elbow grease I have slowly grown my business over 5 years, however the three years of 2020-2021-2022 was very slow progress. No one could meet in person and that is the heart of my job….sitting down together to discuss health, expectations, needs in order to fit them to the right health coverage. We talked on the phone but it just wasn’t the same as in-person meetings. Luckily, we have started in-person meetings again. A few months ago, a colleague wanted to retire and asked me to purchase his clients from him. He wanted me to take over, because he wanted someone who actually cares about their clients. Cost: $175,000 – I told him I couldn’t. However he told me I could pay it off slowly. I am very slowly paying this bill and tending to his clients’ needs. I need help with this bill. I pay rent for a small office, high taxes due to being self employed, as well as high healthcare costs for myself and my young son. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to have all of it, it just adds up! I am finally, at 56, thriving and enjoying my job! If I get help towards this bill, I will be a lot less stressed about every other cost coming my way. I thank you for anything you give, it means a great deal to me to continue doing what I love!
