While I’ve managed to provide shelter and sustenance, we lost our car, and they haven’t received Christmas or birthday gifts since 2020, yet they never complain, and their optimism worries me deeply.
It pains me to witness the absence of a paternal presence in their lives, compounded by the sudden loss of their grandmother and my son’s chronic illness.
