Hello! My name is Julia, I am a twenty year old autistic woman why has been living on my own since March 2020. It has been extremely difficult living on my own for the first time during a pandemic. I have been able to support myself on my own for nearly 10 months but now I need help.
I’m currently unemployed. I was harassed and treated without any care at the job I spent most of 2020 at. I finally stood up for myself and quit in November 2020 after being hired at Amazon. Unfortunately working at Amazon caused my fibromyalgia to flare up, giving me extreme body aches and pains and resulting in the inability to continue working in the Amazon warehouse. My last day was 01/02/21, which was also my birthday. I spent the first half of that day working and the second half in bed full of pain.
I start a new job on February 22nd and Im super excited because it is a career type job in a medical facility. The first three weeks of my job I’ll be training and making minimum wage. It is definitely better than nothing but I have a $575 rent bill due on 03/01/21. And with the current state of my bank account I am not going to be able to pay this on time or even close to on time. I also have to buy groceries and toiletries. My fridge is almost completely empty, I don’t have any stable foods, I’m out of toilet paper, and I need to buy dish soap. My car’s gas tank is also almost completely empty and I will need money to fill my gas tank up to be able to go to my new job.
There are so many expenses i didn’t even think of before moving out of my moms house. Feeding myself is a big one, I don’t even buy expensive food but eating 3 times a day and some snacks and drinks is expensive. Toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, toilet paper, pads, tampons, bathroom cleaner. Household cleaning supplies like 409, paper towels, dish soap, sponges, broom, mopping supplies. Even paying for gas or random car repairs.
I’m super grateful for anything you all can send. $1 could buy me a sausage biscuit from QT and then now I had breakfast. $5 could buy me bread and milk for the week. $10 could buy me half a tank of gas to get to my new job and make my own money again. Every cent counts, thank you so much.
