So I’m currently a mature student with a house to run and I have no income coming in. As a student, there are no benefits that I can claim here in the UK to help me pay to run my house or to help towards my bills. I have a car to run and pay for to help me hopefully get a job and get to and from that job.
I have spent the past couple of months applying for jobs just to see me through the summer until I go back to uni in September when I will get my maintenance loan. I already have debt which I am currently clearing through an IVA but if I can’t keep up those payments I will have to declare myself bankrupt and I would rather not take that route as when I’ve finished uni I want to open my own business and will definitely struggle get any financial help if I have to declare bankruptcy.
I have never asked for financial help before as is clearly obvious from the debt I gained needing an IVA to clear it. I am 32, I can only rent property as my IVA shows on my credit score and so would struggle to get a mortgage and so I don’t want to lose the property I am currently renting as I don’t want to have to live back with my parents.
Any help that anyone can give would be received greatly and appreciated more than anyone can realise. I have struggled financially for many years and now, as said previously, at 32 and a mature student I want to set myself up for a good future. I want to own my own business, my own home, raise a family and any help given to me financially now, in the present, will be so very beneficial for my future. Financially it’s a struggle while being at uni as the maintenance loan I get barely covers my rent and bills for 3 months, leaving me with nothing to live on. I am trying to find a job to ease these burdens but any outside I help I can receive from anyone with a little spare cash would be so very gratefully received.
The cost for me to run my house, pay my car and pay my IVA and have food in the fridge is well over £1000 a month which for some people is nothing, however for me, that is more than I can currently afford.
Please if anyone can give anything, I would appreciate that. If I manage to get 1000 people to donate just £1, that’s enough to help me for a month.
