Hi everyone. My name is Travis and I’m upset that I have to even be writing this, but times have never been harder for my family and me. A couple years ago, my grandfather passed away and due to a reverse mortgage he had on the house, we were forced to move. We managed to find a new place for rent, and while things seemed okay at first, they have since become horrible. I have a job and am not looking for handouts but almost everyone else in my family is disabled and the little income we all make combined is far from enough to pay for everything we need. I have more than $20,000 in credit card debt and mounting medical bills. Not to mention, rent, utilities and food. As I type this, it is after 5:00 in the morning, that’s how worried sick I am about the prospect of being homeless next year. I know that there are probably people in circumstances more deserving than me of your charity, but I beg of you, please, any little bit will help ease the mental anxiety and the daily stress my entire family deals with.
As mentioned previously, most people in my family are disabled. My 11-year-old niece suffers from epilepsy and autism. My sister has anxiety and bipolar and my brother has agoraphobia. We also know that we have to leave our current house next summer, so the prospect of us all becoming homeless is very real and very terrifying. On top of all this, I just recently had dental work, which required putting an additional $8,000 on my credit cards. I also suffer with chronic leg pain and spasms that is also contributing to my inability to keep my current job. I’m very desperate and hate asking anyone for money, especially strangers, but I can assure you that the money will be very much appreciated and will make an excellent early Christmas present to a family that has little to celebrate this year. So, if you’re feeling a little charitable, and you can afford too, please consider sending some holiday cheer our way. While it would of course be great to have all my debt disappear, any amount at all that you can donate, even if it’s just $20 or so, will help a lot.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and God bless you!
