Hey, my name is Klaus. Around March 2020, the pandemic hit and I lost my job in Houston along with my roommate. We ended up getting evicted because we couldn’t pay rent and moved back in with our families. I couldn’t find a job. I couldn’t just up and move either since I spent all my savings to get to Houston. The landlord ended up putting the apartment debt on my credit report instead of my roommate and my credit severely dropped. I didn’t have a job so there were no payments going to my credit cards and to the debt. I recently borrowed a couple hundred dollars from my dad so I could use it for gas. I then found a job outside of where I currently live, Killeen, and the job is at the Austin International airport. It takes me an hour without traffic to commute and my car cant handle this since I dont have enough money to constantly put gas in everytime I commute. My car’s current MPG is 9.8 which is the result of 3 dead cylinders in the engine, so gas drains fairly fast compared to the average. But I’m not requesting money to fix my car as it isn’t worth the trouble since its too old and cost too much to fix. Instead, I’m asking for a bit of change to move into an apartment near the airport so I can handle commuting without draining the rest of my wallet. Since my credit is currently at 430, as a result of the debt and missed payments, I’ve had little to no options to move anywhere near the airport except one. They accepted my lease because I chose the option to pay 2 months worth of rent ahead of time. It all totals to 3k roughly and has to be paid before I move in. It seems stupid to choose that option, but at the time I did the lease, my parents offered to give me the 3k needed to pay it. However, I am from a big family, and I should’ve remembered that isn’t guranteed. My little brother ended up getting a new job in San Antonio and needed money as well and since he is a lot farther from the family, they helped him first. I can’t maintain this job without moving closer or getting a new car, and it’s fairly obvious which is easier. My car right now won’t last another year, so if I can maintain this job, I can get a new used car to make up for it. It may seem stupid for me to get a job so far from where I am, but I want to work around the planes because I want to get my pilots license. This is my dream and it is doable since the job pays enough for all the bills and the courses. There are flight schools at the airport as well so this is all very obtainable. All I need is this first step to set everything in motion. Maybe this is asking too much and I understand. Regardless of my pride or self esteem, I have to try all options including this one. If you read this far, thank you, and I hope you understand by the very least.
