I recently lost my second stream of income. My main source of income is not enough to sustain my bills and have fallen behind on my rent, car note, and credit card. I was forced to use my credit card to keep afloat, now I am in-a-bind. I had hopes I would replace my second job sooner, but no word yet on the jobs I have applied for. But I am optimistic.
I have always been an independent person and it is hard to ask for help, but here I am humbly asking for your generous assistance. I am typically the one in the family helping others, and here I am needing help myself. After my divorce, a number of years ago, I fell on hard times, but I have never given up hope, nor regret my decision. Though oftentimes, I’ve felt like the famous childhood story “The little Engine That Could”.
Not only did I think I would be in a better financial situation at this point, but I also thought I would have a contract by now as well. I’ll explain. I’m an upcoming purse designer and have worked tirelessly on my designs while working two jobs. My intentions are to show my designs to a buyer at a department store and land a handsome contract with them. But that road has not been easy either; it’s been full of twist and turns.
So far, I have gone through 3 Countries and 5 manufacturers in search of the best fit to make the quality handbag I am looking for to present to buyers. Though, I have had some rough patches, I am proud to say, that my hard work has not been in vain. In December of 2022, after two years of waiting, I finally received my first purse patent by the United States Patent office. Words could not express my Joy!
Lastly, I truly feel I am closer than ever before, as I have recently met a European Fashion Designer and Professor at the School of Design. He would like to see my work in the next coming weeks, in which, I’m thrilled about, but in the meantime my bills are still waiting for me to handle them.
