Pay Off Our Home

My husband and I have been married for 31 years. We have spent the last 15 years paying on two houses.  15 years ago my mother-in-law passed and her will gave us option to purchase her home and 27 acres but had to pay my husbands siblings (fair market value) their equal share. We had to take on a loan to do so (with intentions to live in our $50,00 home and sell her house, take that money and put toward building a new home on the 26 acres). We do not live in the best of neighborhoods and could not find a buyer, but found a buyer for our home.  We took that money and put toward closing costs, down payments, land clearing of 5 acres, loads of dirt to build up the very low land in order to build our new home. Thus we took out a second loan to build the home we have now. Our original plans were to sell my husbands mothers home and put on our new home but could not find a buyer. We decided our only option was to rent.  We owed $145,000. on the home and land, but was only able to rent for what they were payments were. We also had financed our new home and were told our payments would be $1300/mo on our $189,000.00 loan for 20 years, but if we made two payments of $650.00/month that would allow us to pay it off in 15 years. Needless to say that did not happen, we currently owe $98,000 our home.  My husband retired this past year and we had to refinance our home for another  30 years in order  to lower our payments. In the 15 years paying on the rental home we still owed $88,000.00, (never made any money, only was able to rent what our payments were) so decided to try and sell once again. We found a buyer and made $2000.00. My husband has lived on the same piece of property all his life. It breaks my heart to think if I become physically unable to continue to work 10 more years (When I can possibly retire) we will lose our home and land. I have been putting off going to see my neurosurgeon by taking  non- narcotic muscle relaxers and sleep medication. I have had 2 prior neck surgeries 1st one due to a fall that happened at the age of 7yrs but didn’t know until my late 40’s and second was due to trying to tend to a special needs child, at work, (I refused to file workman’s comp). My whole right side becomes numb when I sit or lay down for very long. (Reason for medication at bedtime).  If you can  help it would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t, I understand and ask that you say a prayer for us.
