I am desperate to own a home of my own that my Significant Other and I could live out the rest of our days. It is like my last wish.
Short vision is that Bill, my S/O, is 69 yrs old and living on retirement while I just turned 48 (while in the hospital last week) and am mentally and physically disabled. I get paid $936 a month. I can’t even pay my basic bills. Bill has been helping as much as he can with his fixed income.
Bottom line is that we need a house that can accommodate my disabilities and be able to afford when one of us passes or that is paid for. I have attached a picture of our approval letter with the amounts. As you can see it has been impossible to find a “move in ready” home (USDA is very, VERY picky about everything-which is a good thing for the buyers, since they won’t have to do any repairs in the first few years of owning their home) in the altitude that my brain disorder can handle.
My ultimate goal would be like $300,000. That amount would get us a decent home, with insurance and taxes and maybe even enough to cover some medical bills. But seriously, at this point I would take whatever I could get.
My depression has been bad lately since my health has really declined. I feel like such a burden to Bill, my family and friends. I have always said that I would never take my own life since I saw what that did to my mom when my brother did it, but I am also struggling with the fact that I can’t keep living like this. It’s not a life I would wish on anyone.
