Expecting an additional job that did not quite pan out. We have defaulted in our mortgage. We have 30 days to bring the mortgage current or the bank will proceed with foreclosure proceedings. Married, two daughters (9 and 17), my mother, and two international students that live with us (15 and 13). Not ideal to lose a house. Not too many options to find a place to move to with 7 people. The additional job was supposed to help with the mortgage payments, and I did a poor job assuming the job would pan out. My current job gives us a fighting chance to afford the mortgage payment, but it is not enough to catch up on the amount we are behind.
I’m 41 years old. A paraplanner. My wife is 44, she is in nursing school. I also volunteer to coach girls’ basketball. I’ve had the excitement of coaching both of my daughters. In addition to providing for our daughters, we also provide for my mother. My mother had to drop out of school at a young age, after losing both of her parents, so she never really had the opportunity to save a nest egg for her retirement years. As an extension of coaching girls’ basketball, we now have the honor to host two young ladies from Africa attending school here in the United States. It is an experience we enjoy watching them take part in.
My wife and I met in the Air Force. We served 4 years. The mortgage we have is a VA loan, it helped us by the house 7 years ago. We were able to move into the house a few months after our youngest daughter was born. It is not a big house, but we’ve made it a home, and have helped many families. This time we are the ones that need the help.
I’m not sure if this post will work at all. It is my hail Mary in a difficult time. If you find it within you to help us out, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
