Hello. My name is Diana. I am 56, single & a foster carer of an intellectually disabled 20 year old girl who a most horrendous upbringing.
We have been together for 5 happy years now!
Recently we pooled our money for a deposit & bought a dual occupancy dwelling.
At the moment we can manage the mortgage but due to impending govt cuts our payments will soon be reduced which will make it very difficult to cope & I am afraid we may have to sell.
In the event of my death my daughter will receive my estate & life insurance payment which will cover the $250,000 mortgage. I want her to have this security.
Unfortunately due to her medical issues I cannot get life insurance for her which worries a lot as there is a real chance her condition could cause a fatal incident.
She has no assets & I would be stuck with the mortgage and no carer income! This worries me a great deal and I think about it day and night.
Being mortgage free would be such a blessing for us both; no money worries & security for both our futures.
After having worked hard all my life as a registered nurse, giving & caring for others, it would be so nice to have this burden lifted from me.
On behalf of my foster daughter, I would be ever so grateful. Thank you for your time.
