Hi, My name is Tom, I am 51 years old, married and have a son 16 years of age. I also have 3 step daughters ages 22, 26 and 28. and 5 grandkids from them. In 2004 my wife and I bought the Rural community convenience store which is our home community in south Ms. We worked hard to make it a main stop for everyone. we expanded it to be a one stop for all, Grocery, hot Deli, Hardware, Gardening supply and livestock feed. We had 5 employees working for us. We only cleared around 25k a year but life was good.
Then 2010 The Gulf oil spill happen, With our community most of worked in the Gulf on oil rigs, So that made them to worry about there job. By the end of the year my cash flow in the store had cut to half. By the end of 2011 a major manufacturing company that employed lots of locals closed its doors. So we had to down size our payroll to match the new cash flow which had drop even more. In 2012 my wife and I decided we would run it all our self and get through the tough times. We where making ends meet but just barely getting by. We took a second loan out on our home just to keep the store open for the community because it is 10 miles to the closest grocery store. Then at the end of 2012 we got the word that the sawmill in our community is shutting down. We just gritted our teeth and said we will make it though somehow its just a temporary set back. We operated on borrowed money. Then last July I fell out on the floor, my son found me and call a ambulance. I had lost 12 units of blood in a upper gi bleed, A blood vessel rupture caused from stress and high blood pressure. Being over $200K in depth now got to me.
Thanks to my wife and son for getting us through 2014.
Now it 2015 and I need to relax a little. But with paying notes 3 loans made over the last 3 years makes it imposable. We fixing to loose our home, I tried my best to keep it all going.
I prayed over and over for guidance in this. Never new about this site till today. Maybe this is the answers to my blessing.
Thank You, And God bless you.
