Hello, my Name is Elizabeth Sharpe and I am asking for $30,000 to help put a down payment to buy a home for my grandmother who is now 84.
We live in Ontario Canada, and I have been here our whole lives. My grandmother has never experienced having her own place. She has always been the one who has always taken care of me since my parents pretty much abandoned me as a toddler. She was barely able to afford to put us in a proper home or give us a proper life but tried anyways. After my grandfather died I started working at age 16 and most of my pay went to rent and food just trying to help her out, it wasn’t easy for me but that’s what you do when you care about family.
I am now 23 and am in college. Schooling is expensive but I was able to get a small loan for my classes. I’m barely able to keep up with work and school but I do it because of her. I truly am working hard to take care of her although she is starting to loose her memory. Money us tight because of Coivd, and I worry every day I will bring the virus home to her and she won’t make it. We live in a one bedroom and I sleep in the living room and she sleeps in the only bedroom we have.
One of her dreams was to be able to own a home. Nothing fancy at all but something to call her own. Something she can be proud of before she completely forgets. I desperately want to give that to her and make her happy and I have no one to turn to for it. I want the last few memories she has to be beautiful ones, I want her to live in a beautiful quaint little home and not a run down apartment. I want her to have better and what she deserves.
Everything in Ontario expensive, housing, food, rent. It’s getting worse and worse every year. Over the past few years I have been able to save up $5,000, but to buy a home in ontario you need a down payment of $35,000 to get a two bedroom. It’s hard to think that 30k for one person is not much but to someone like my grandmother, it can change her world. She’s worked hard to take care of me and I want to do the same. If she could get the help she needed to it would make a little old lady and her granddaughter very happy.
Thank you for reading and God bless.
