Hello, I’m not usually the one to ask for help, but we need help with the medical bills we’re drowning in after having my daughter. I am a 28 year old mother of a one year old and the wife of a disabled veteran. In September 2021 after 6 years of marriage, my husband and I found out we were expecting our first child. We were so excited to finally be growing our family. During my first trimester, I had a lot of difficulties but God saw us through. Just when I thought we were in the clear in my second trimester when I was about 18 weeks, I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. I was terrified because the doctors kept mentioning our baby could die if I didn’t monitor it. I was ordered to get a blood sugar monitor and test my blood sugar 3 times every day. The machine itself wasn’t too expensive but the test strips we had to get every month really took a toll on us. It was rough, but I’d do anything for my little girl. I had to get special ultrasounds done every 4-6 weeks from 18 weeks on. We made it to 38 weeks when our daughter was not doing too well. During my last ultrasound, I was ordered to go straight to the hospital. I was strapped to a bunch of machines as they monitored our daughter. Thankfully, she got stable but the medical team wanted to get her out as soon as possible. I was rushed to Labor & Delivery where I was put on Pitocin and given a balloon catheter to dilate. After two days of nonstop labor, I got up to 6 cm and would not dilate anymore, so they had to do an emergency C-section. I was given an epidural and rushed to the OR. In April 2022, about 45 minutes later, our sweet baby girl was born. We were filled with tears of joy as we heard her strong cry from over the curtain. The doctors had to run a variety of tests on her due to the situation at hand. Thanks to God Almighty, she was perfectly healthy. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days before I could go home so they could monitor me and the baby and make sure I was healing properly.
Please help my family with these crippling medical bills
We finally made it home and we were so excited to start our lives as a family of 3. I had to be out of work for 12 weeks and my husband was out for about 4 before he went back. Neither of our jobs offer paid parental leave, but we were good living off our saving during that time. Then the medical bills started rolling in. A bill came in almost every week for each ultrasound visit. Then the big hospital bill came in. From $25 Motrin to $15 stool softeners, the bill was a lot. I don’t have the best insurance, so the insurance didn’t cover a lot of it. My husband has been trying to make extra money and we’ve been paying the bills as we can, but we are just drowning in all these bills. These donations will help pay off the doctor visits and the hospital bill. Any amount will help. My PayPal link is listed below. Thank you and God bless.
