Hi. My name is Isabel and I am 19 years old struggling with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and chronic fatigue syndrome. If you’re unfamiliar with these conditions, in short, I am unable to do normal physical activities without debilitating fatigue and passing out. I’m in treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, but the fees are a huge burden on my family.
Due to covid, my family is in the worst place financially that we’ve been in since the recession. I have two younger sisters, one in high school and one in elementary. As the oldest daughter, I know I have a responsibility to take care of them and financially support my family, but my illnesses have made basic living a struggle. Thankfully, I am no longer in a wheelchair, but times are still difficult.
I’ve never posted to a website like this before. In fact, I never thought I would be asking anyone for financial assistance like this, but right now I cannot find another alternative. If you’ve read this far, thank you so much. Every dollar really helps me not just financially but emotionally and physically as well.
