I am not sure if this will even reach anyone but during desperation I will do what I can.
Our Beloved family Dog who’s name is Minty has unfortunately fallen extremely ill. We noticed a ‘bump’ on his nose, which slowly progressed to what seemed like a “Boil”. We disregarded it as he was in good spirits and we thought it could’ve been a big bite. Last week as I went to feed him, I noticed the “Boil” was bleeding and alerted my partner who said it could just be a bee sting that’s infected. My “mum” instincts kicked in and I had to take him to the Vet straight away. We took him to the closest animal hospital, which sadly I was reluctant to do in the first place because it’s $250 consultation fee & I do not have insurance for my pets. I have recently lost my job as of the 13th of May and thus meaning compromising that $250 until I find a new job. The Vet took one look at my baby’s nose & told me it’s in fact a tumour growing. Long story short, we are looking at about $3,000 if not more, to remove the tumour from his nose, inclusive of hospital stays, medications, treatment & Of Course the “after care”.
The Vet explained payment plans are ONLY accepted if I pay a $700 upfront payment, which both my partner & I cannot come up with as my partner lost his job due to COVID (he is applying everywhere with no luck) and I lost my job on the 13th of May 2021, therefore money is so tight.
I contacted Social Services who have submitted a claim for me but That May take 2-3 weeks to be approved. The vet then gave us the second option, which would be to put him down, but the thing is, he is NOT in pain, he is in such good spirits and the Vet even said so and even said we are wasting his life if we put him down because his still got years left in him.
we are sad, truly sad. I know people are facing worse off hardship, I understand, but if I could help my baby boy I wouldn’t be here asking complete strangers for genuine help. I know I may not be able to reach the full target amount but the least im hoping is to get some help for the $700 to set up a payment fee because sadly, the VET will not operate UNTIL a payment is made. We are all thinking this is cruel, I know, but we don’t know what to do. He is our baby, truly. As I mentioned above I really don’t know If this will reach anyone, but our darling baby cannot be put down because of financials, it is so cruel. Any help, at all, would be deeply and greatly appreciated.
