Family! Can’t quite get there! HELP!
We are a family of 5 with three children. My husband was laid off from work for two years and during that time we accrued a lot of debt. He would work side jobs, but it just was not enough. With three children I bartended at night and would get 3-4 hours of sleep maybe and take care of the kids during the day. My husband got a new job but that put him on the road and unable to help with taking care of the kids. We could not afford daycare at this point and were unable to find someone to watch the kids while I worked late nights.
We had to sell our home and move in with my parents. We have been desperately trying to get our finances in order. My parents are small time farmers and have very little income coming in. This has been very trying on our marriage and family as we are now raising the kids with how my parents feel it should be and what we need to do when we get home from work on the farm. We help so much that a lot of times I don’t get to spend time with my children.
My husband and I both have full time jobs and are trying everything to get our debt paid off and buy our own home again. We just seem to take three steps forward and four back.
Our oldest broke her arm twice this year and needed to see a specialist because the bone shifted. We have had more medical and travel expenses along with this.
Our middle child was diagnosed with a muscle issue that was causing her feet to feel like they were broken. After boots and custom Orthotics this became another financial burden for us.
I needed to have surgery on a hernia and was out of work for 3 weeks because of internal Sepsis that they were unable to get control of right away.
My children came down with Influenza A and I have used all my vacation up. My mother and sister ended up in the ICU with COVID for 3 weeks, so I took care of both of them.
Finally, our vehicle broke down with timing chain issues and power steering issues, we can’t afford the almost $9000 to fix it, but we need two vehicles because my husband works on the road.
We would appreciate any help that we could get. We love our family and extended family. We just can’t seem to get anywhere!
